After The Boys took the world by storm and had the superhero fanbase in a chokehold, we got ourselves Gen V, a spinoff from this very universe, and fans just can’t get enough of it. However, after the successful run of Gen V, the show found itself with an unprecedented tragedy when one of the lead stars, Chance Perdomo, passed away in a motorcycle accident. His character, Andre Anderson, was left hanging, and now that Gen V Season 2 is coming out soon, is Prime Video going to recast Chance’s character? Let’s find out whether Gen V will recast Andre Anderson in season 2.
Is Gen V Recasting Andre Anderson in Season 2?

When the news of The Boys actor’s death came out, fans were devastated by the loss of such a talented actor. On top of the grief, it was almost unacceptable for fans to see a new actor take his place, and as it turned out, it was the same case with Prime Video.
In a statement from the team of Gen V and Prime Video, it was confirmed that they will not be recasting Chance Perdomo as Andre Anderson in Gen V Season 2. Instead, they will be taking time to adjust and recraft the story and write Chance’s character off without affecting the story much.
In the previous season, we saw that Andre and the others woke up in captivity, and following this, Season 2 was supposed to tell us what happened next. However, since it can’t be done anymore, it would be interesting to see the direction Gen V is going to take. Other than that, we also got to see a few clips of Andre’s dad, Polarity, and it looks like he could be looking for his son. The trailers do not reveal a lot, so I guess we will have to wait till Gen V Season 2 releases on September 17, 2025.
