So who is Kang No-Eul and what’s her back story?

Park Gyu-young Plays Kang No-eul in Squid Game 2

Before we dive into the details of the character, it’s important to know who portrays it on screen. In Squid Game 2, Park Gyu-young plays the character of Kang No-eul. You might recognize her from shows like Sweet Home released in 2020 along with other popular shows like Dali and the Cocky Prince (2021) and A Good Day to Be a Dog (2023).

Kang No-Eul Is a North Korean Refugee Looking for Her Daughter

Squid Game 2 has revealed that Kang No-Eul played by Park-Gyu-young is a North Korean refugee. She has escaped North Korea and has lost her daughter who she still believes to be alive and is actively looking for her. However, there is a massive twist to this story. While she tried to hire people to look after her child, when they turned out to be unsuccessful Kang No-eul joined the game as one of the members of the masked crew.

She did this because the officer at the Squid Game promised her to look for her daughter. She is probably the only one in the crew who does her job, even though inhuman, with the most humility. While the other crew members take down eliminated players with the intent of not killing them so that they can mark their coffins with the blood cross and use those poor souls for their benefit, she makes sure to put them out of their misery.

Because of this, she was also threatened with being killed by two other crew members because of which she had to stop helping the suffering players but even after that she tried to help Player 246 who was her co-worker when she worked at the amusement park

Is Kang No-Eul Alive in Squid Game Season 2?

Yes, Kang No-Eul is still alive in Squid Game and we have not seen her dying in Squid Game Season 2 ending when a fight breaks out between the players and masked men. It means her story will be carried forward to Squid Game Season 3. So, let’s wait and see what happens, and till then stay tuned with us for further updates!
