One Piece anime fans were loving every minute of the Egghead arc adaptation, which featured some intense fights and some of the highest-rated episodes of 2024. But fans were left in utter shock when Toei Animation announced that the One Piece anime would be going on a 6 month long hiatus, only to return in 2025.
The production team revealed that the break was necessary to deliver high-quality animation and do justice to the Egghead arc adaptation. Hence, the anime went on a break earlier with no return date in sight. However, at Jump Festa 2025, we finally learned when the One Piece anime will be coming back.
What Date Will One Piece Return?
Toei Animation has officially revealed that the One Piece anime will be returning on April 6, 2025. The anime has also received a new broadcast time slot. So, the new episodes of One Piece anime will be broadcast at 11:15 PM JST every Sunday from April 6.
A new teaser for the Egghead arc was also released today. The new late-night time slot for broadcast essentially means we will be seeing a change in streaming times of One Piece episodes, which will be announced next year.
Fans suspect that the change in broadcast time could also mean that the animation studio wishes to adapt the Egghead arc with less censorship. This arc includes Kuma’s tear-jerking backstory, some prominent deaths, and more. That said, are you excited about the comeback of One Piece anime in 2025? Let us know in the comments below.
