Cyclops, aka Scott Summers, is all set to join the Marvel Rivals hero roster after being rumored to be in the game since launch. The latest Marvel Rivals Season 8 trailer confirmed the arrival of the first X-Men hero, who was seen fighting against the robotic foes outside the Alchemax HQ. Marvel Rivals Cyclops Release Date

Cyclops will become a part of the Marvel Rivals hero roster on June 12, 2026, at 9 AM UTC with Season 8.5. NetEase Games officially confirmed the release date of Marvel Rivals Season 8.5 in a new roadmap, and that is exactly when the leader of the X-Men will join the game.

So far, NetEase has released only a story trailer for Cyclops. Similar to other heroes who debuted in mid-season updates, we can expect Cyclops kits and abilities to be revealed in a separate trailer during season 7.5’s launch next month.

Marvel Rivals Cyclops Role and Gameplay Prediction

Devil Dinosaur, the 50th hero in Marvel Rivals, is confirmed to be a Vanguard. So the chances of Cyclops being a Vanguard are at an all-time low. While NetEase hasn’t commented on anything about Cyclops’ role, he is strongly speculated to be a Duelist based on his Optic Beam abilities. The Concussive Optic Blasts are meant for melting enemies’ health bars.

However, the new ‘Punch Chronovium’ collectable item (related to Cyclops) in Season 8 battle pass has a support symbol at its centre. Now, players believe that this is a strong hint from devs that Cyclops will be our next Strategist. If this is the case, Cyclops is expected to use his Optic Beams for healing allies as well as damaging enemies, similar to the best Strategists in the game.

Thus, Cyclops’ role remains shrouded in mystery at the moment. But whatever his role may be, players are very eager to play as Cyclops as soon as possible in Marvel Rivals.
