Every school needs a principal like Weems; all she cares about is Nevermore’s reputation and the safety of the outcasts. Despite being on bad terms with Morticia during their time at Nevermore, she never treated Wednesday badly. She initially emerges as a gray character when she hides her acquaintance with Hyde’s killings. However, Weems later proved her loyalty towards the school by sacrificing her life.

Principal Weems was an incredible shape-shifter who concealed Rowan’s death by taking his form so that Nevermore’s reputation wouldn’t be compromised. Now that Weems is gone, Principal Barry Dort, played by Steve Buscemi, will replace her, so let’s keep our fingers crossed and see if he can do justice to the position in Wednesday Season 2.

Do you recognize the actor playing Marilyn Thornhill in Wednesday Season 1? Well, for the unacquainted, she portrayed the central character, ie. Wednesday in the 1990s, Addams film. Marilyn Thornhill was one of the most complex characters in Wednesday. She was initially introduced to us as the Dorm mom and the Botanical science teacher, but we didn’t know she would emerge as the most dangerous member of Nevermore. She was the one who controlled Hyde to commit all the murders.

Thornhill was basically Laurel Gates, the youngest member of the Gates family. Being the descendants of Crackstone, her family wanted to annihilate the outcasts from existence, and Marilyn, aka. Lauren worked towards the cause, keeping her real identity hidden for several years.

Eugene Ottinger is the sweetest nerd of Nevermore Academy, who started as an underdog but eventually played a significant role in the story. He has the ability to control bees and, using this, he protected Wednesday when Laurel was about to shoot her in the concluding moments of Season 1. Don’t judge him by his looks, as he is extremely brave and can go beyond his limits to protect his allies.

Eugene’s wholesome and warm personality provokes Wednesday to reveal her soft side. To be honest, Eugene became one such friend to Wednesday, whom she didn’t know she needed.

Xavier is an artistic outcast of Nevermore, who possesses a fascinating ability to bring his drawings to life. His chemistry with Wednesday and his always being on his love interests’ radar make him one of the key characters of Wednesday Season 1. Unfortunately, some reports hint at his absence in Season 2.

Xavier Thorpe had a soft corner for Wednesday since the start, and the duo’s complex relationship somewhat shaped the emotional developments of the plot. He had been the most misunderstood character from the start, and like every viewer, Wednesday also suspected him and put him behind bars with the help of Sheriff Galpin.

6. Tyler Galpin

He helped her multiple times, and fans loved him for that. However, all hope was soon shattered when his Hyde identity was revealed after he shared a kiss with Wednesday at the coffee shop.

The one who appeared as a bridge between the Nevermore outcasts and Jericho’s non-supernatural community eventually emerged as the deadly enemy of the outcasts, specifically Wednesday. In Season 1, after everyone learns about his true identity, he is sent to Willow Hill Psychiatric Facility. Now, it would be exciting to see if he can escape captivity and come face-to-face with Wednesday again.

5. Morticia Addams

Morticia is a sophisticated and elegant character in Wednesday. Despite not playing a central role or receiving significant screen time, she is a character whose charm makes her one of the best in the series. She shares a strained relationship with her daughter, Wednesday, but her weird and passionate romance with Gomez Addams keeps the character in the limelight.

Bianca Barclay developed an instant enmity with Wednesday when our protagonist challenged her in the fencing match. She and Xavier were romantically involved in the past, so when Xavier started showing interest in Wednesday, Biance grew furious and started hating her even more. She is the leader of the secret Nightshade society and boasts a psychic manipulation ability through her siren singing.

The Queen Bee initially appeared as an antagonistic character, but as the series progressed, she transitioned into an ally to Wednesday. She played a massive role in protecting Nevermore from getting destroyed at the hands of Joseph Crackstone. If she hadn’t distracted the evil spirit, it would have been a lot more challenging for Wednesday to defeat him once and for all.

3. Enid Sinclair

Enid Sinclair is the social butterfly of Nevermore, who, despite being a werewolf, had a hard time wolfing out at first. However, her transformation occurred at the right time, and she could save Wednesday from getting killed at the hands of Tyler’s Hyde. She is one such friend whom you need to be around when nothing feels good. She can make you laugh with her quirky personality and silly jokes.

She and Wednesday make the perfect best friend duo as Enid is the one who can balance Wednesday’s gloominess with her positivity. In fact, she was the one who helped Wednesday to open up and always cared for her, even if the latter never showed any interest in befriending her.

2. Thing

The non-human character, Thing, is the most loyal companion to Wednesday, who never fails to stay by her side no matter what the situation is. Thing is the best detective, who can achieve the tasks without being noticed. He doesn’t have a body, but that doesn’t make him any less effective.

He can climb a wall and sneak into restricted areas where others can’t enter. He is also a quick thinker who can make use of hand gestures to convey messages to people. It was he who told Enid and Ajax that Wednesday had been abducted by Thornhill. So, he is a hero who saves Wednesday every time without even stepping onto the battlefield and fighting directly.

Here comes the lead lady, Wednesday Addams, who won millions of hearts with her darkness in 2022. She harbors psychic abilities that help her learn about the past and future; it was the visions that allowed her to know about Tyler’s Hyde identity. She is a straightforward outcast who is an extremely brilliant fencer and an incredible detective.

Wednesday may not seem a complex character at first, but she does go through a variety of emotions in the series. She discovers friendship, love, and so much more. And the way Jenna Ortega brings life to such complexity on the screen is simply marvelous.
