Well, this explanation made much sense in 2017 but doesn’t feel very relatable in 2024, when Apple Pay is extremely popular.

Second, it seems Walmart doesn’t want to pay transaction fees that would come along with Apple Pay. Considering the large number of everyday transactions at Walmart’s online and offline stores, this small transaction fee would add to a large sum over time. Since Walmart is known for offering items at low prices, introducing Apple Pay might affect the overall equation. How to Use Apple Pay at Walmart

For this, you need to add the Apple Card to the Walmart Pay wallet in the Walmart app. In case you don’t have an Apple credit card, you can apply for one using the Wallet app on your iPhone/iPad or directly through Apple’s website. The process is pretty simple and quick. Once you have the Apple Card, add it to the Walmart app, and then you can use Apple Pay in Walmart. Here’s how to do it:

How to Add an Apple Card to the Walmart App

• Go to the App Store on your iPhone and download the Walmart app or download directly from here.
• Open the app and sign in or create an account.
• Now, head to the Account tab from the bottom right and tap on Wallet. This will allow you to add a new payment method to your Walmart account.

• Tap on Add new payment method and choose the Credit/debit card option.
• Now, add your Apple Card. Move along the on-screen instructions to add your Apple Card to the Walmart app.

Once your Apple Card is connected to the Walmart app, you can use it to pay for your purchases at any self-checkout or checkout with a cashier.

When you want to use self-checkout, scan all your items, and select Pay on the checkout screen as you would normally do.
