5G is here, and it seems like Verizon is all set to incorporate the high spectrum into its broadband service.

As announced in an official post, Verizon is all set to launch the world’s first commercial 5G service, Verizon 5G Home, starting October 1st.

Verizon’s 5G Home will come with typical speeds of 300 Mbps and peak speeds of nearly 1 Gbps, depending upon location. Now, while Verizon is using proprietary network technology, the company claims that it will be able to expand its 5G service at a quicker pace once it makes the move to industry-standard 5G equipment. What’s more is that it does promise to bring faster broadband speeds for home internet that are on par with, or at least in the range of, gigabit fiber networks.

The Verizon 5G Home will cost $50 a month for existing Verizon Wireless customers, and $70 for non-Verizon customers. However, if you’re one of the first members to sign up for the service, Verizon is also offering free router installation, three months of complimentary service, a free Chromecast or Apple TV 4K, and three months of free YouTube TV.

Verizon 5G Home will be available for order on Thursday, September 13, in Houston, Indianapolis, Los Angeles and Sacramento on Verizon’s own portal.
