- Valorant 9.10 update introduces a new armor type: Regen Shield.
- Regen Shield offers 25 active armor with 50 reserved points in the pool for only 650 credits.
- Once your active armor is 0, after three seconds, 25 points from the reserved pool will transfer as active armor.
There is no denying that Riot Games always tries to improve their games and add something fresh to them with new updates. With the Valorant patch 9.10, Riot Games has introduced a new armor type called Regen Shield. Unlike the Half and Full armor, this shield regenerates over time. So, if you are wondering about this new Valorant armor, keep reading as we explain it in detail.
What is Regen Shield in Valorant?
Regen Shield is the new armor that you can purchase from the shop. Unlike other armor, this one comes with active armor and a reserved armor pool. Starting with 25 active armor, Regen Shield guarantees 100% damage absorption. Once that armor count is 0, 25 armor from your reserve pool will transfer toward the active. You will have 50 armor in your reserved pool that regens your active armor pool in two separate instances.
The regeneration happens 3 seconds after your active armor depletes. This means you are vulnerable with 0 armor until the regeneration happens. In a standard game, you can get a total of 75 armor from the Regen Shield. However, your active HP and armor will never go above 125 with the Regen Shield. If your reserved armor is gone, you can replenish it by purchasing it from the shop once the next round begins.
Valorant Regen Shield Cost and Stats
Now that you know how the Regen Shield works, here are the complete statistics for the latest armor type in Valorant, including its price:
- Cost: 650 Credits
- Damage Absorption: 25 HP
- Regeneration Pool: 50 HP
- Absorbs 100% of incoming damage taken before damage to health occurs.
- After a brief delay, the shield regenerates by draining any remaining points left in the Regeneration Pool.
Should You Buy Regen Shield?
With all that said comes the main question: should you prefer the Regen Shield in a Valorant game? Well, the first thing to consider is that the new shields absorb 100% damage before breaking. Compared to this, the other armors absorb 66% of incoming damage. This is a great plus when you get burst down by cheap enemy utilities or a classic burst. It makes Regen Shield a great option for pistol rounds or an eco round.
However, keep in mind that the full amount of shield will not be usable. Given that there is a reserve pool instead of all of it available at once can get you killed against Phantom or Vandal shots easily. If you are playing more evasive agents like Jett or Reyna, you can still go with this one. But for full buy rounds, always prefer the Full Armor.
And that is everything you need to know about Valorant Regen Shield. Have you tried the new Valorant armor yet? Which armor type do you prefer more? Let us know in the comments.
