The Penguin has finally reached its end, and just when you think this series cannot get any more “unexpected,” that’s exactly what it does. Now we all expected a grand ending for such an unbelievable show but instead of being grand, it just ended with things setting up the stage for the next project in Matt Reeve’s Batman universe. Now, the question is how? find your answer with this The Penguin Episode 8 ending explained!
Sofia Falcone Set to Return in The Future
By the end of The Penguin episode 8, we see that Oswald takes Sofia with him and at a rather deserted location, points his gun at her head asking her to turn around. However, just when we thought that he was going to shoot her and kill her, we saw cops coming in and arrest Sofia. By the end of the episode, we see Sofia back in Arkham and Julian Rush brings her letters that have arrived for her.
Julian mentions that most of the letters are useless except one, he tells Sofia that she has received a letter from Selina Kyle, who claims to be Sofia’s half-sister. Now, if you remember, Selina Kyle is none other than Cat Woman who is indeed Carmine Falcone’s daughter which makes Sofia and Selina siblings. Even though we did not get to know what was in the letter, Sofia’s smile tells us that it did contain something she wanted to hear. This confirms that the rumors about Sofia Falcone’s return in Batman Part 2 will most probably turn out to be true.
Oswald Killed Victor to Free Himself of Any Weaknesses
Since the very beginning of The Penguin, Victor Agular has been a fan-favorite character. Even though Penguin and Victor seem like a good team, we all knew that at some point Victor and Penguin were going to have a falling out but since it did not happen till the very last of it, we thought that maybe we were wrong.
However, by the end of Episode 8, Oz strangled Victor and snapped his neck killing him instantly. The reason according to Oswald for killing Victor was that his family became a weakness for him once, referring to what he had to go through because of his mom, and since Victor is like family to him, he would not let anyone become his weakness again.
This was a rather psychotic reason to kill Victor but it also showed us that after everything that has happened, not much Oswald is left and only the Penguin remains.
The Batman Is Finally Back in Town in The Penguin Episode 8
By the final minutes of The Penguin Episode 8, we see glimpses confirming that Oswald and completely lost it and has become unhinged. We also get to see that near his dresser, is a comic-accurate Penguin suit that was also depicted in “Batman Returns” released in 1992. Even though Penguin’s mother is brain-dead, he is keeping her alive and connected to medical machines.
On top of that, he has gotten Eve to dress up like his mom and dance with him while praising Oswald for everything he has achieved. However, as the camera pans out, we see something we all have been waiting for, the Bat-Signal lighting up. This means that Batman is back in action. This also means that whatever we see happening in The Penguin will directly connect to The Batman Part 2 which might feature The Penguin and Sofia Falcone as the villains.
Well, now that The Penguin has finally met its ending, all that’s left for us to do is wait for The Batman Part 2 to come out so we can see what happens next. Till then, stay tuned with us for further updates!
