All the Main Characters’ Ages in The Last of Us Series
We have included the ages for the main characters of The Last of Us Part 2 video game and Season 2 of the TLOU TV Show. Without any further ado, let’s begin:
1. Joel Miller
Joel Miller is one of the main protagonists of the TLOU franchise. He was confirmed to be 21 years old when he had his daughter, Sarah. Fifteen years later, the Cordyceps outbreak began, and he lost his kid when he was 36 years old. In the game, Joel is around 52 years old in the first part and 56 years old in part 2.
The showrunners have slightly altered Joel’s age in the TLOU live-action TV show. He is already 56 years old in the events of season 1. Hence, after the time skip, Joel officially entered his sixties, 61 years old precisely in season 2, where he died at the hands of Abby.
2. Ellie Williams
Ellie Williams is the face of the The Last of Us series, and she takes the helm after Joel’s death in the sequel story. Unlike Joel’s character, the creators have kept Ellie’s age the same as the video game in the live-action show. Thus, Ellie is a young teenager, around 13-14 years old in the first season and the TLOU Part 1 game.
Following the time jump, Ellie is 19 years old as her darker story unfolds in season 2 and The Last of Us Part 2 game. Moreover, if you are wondering how old Ellie is at the end of The Last of Us Part 2 story, she is estimated to be around 20-21 years old.
3. Dina
Dina is one of the major additions in the TLOU series as she is the key supporting character in the sequel story. She is initially one of Ellie’s close friends, then becomes her lover, and lends a hand in Ellie’s revenge against Abby and her friends for Joel’s death. During their journey in Seattle, Dina reveals that she was just 8-10 years old when she killed a human who came after her family.
After she lost her family, Dina found the Jackson community in Wyoming and started a new life. Dina is mentioned to be 20-23 years old in the game, so she is older than her partner Ellie. However, the showrunners have adjusted Dina’s age to be 19, the same as Ellie in the live-action TV show.
4. Abby Anderson
Abby Anderson makes her way into the The Last of Us series in the most brutal way one could imagine. She is the daughter of the chief surgeon whom Joel killed in the ending of the prequel story. Abby was only 15-16 years old when she found out Joel had put her father to death.
While the game and the TV show haven’t properly established Abby’s exact age in TLOU, she is confirmed to be older than Ellie. Therefore, Abby is considered to be in her early 20s, i.e., 23-24 years old, as she debuts in the second season.
5. Tommy Miller
Tommy Miller, Joel’s younger brother, has been a major supporting character in both parts of the TLOU series. After being separated by the Cordyceps outbreak, the brothers reunited in the Jackson settlement, led by Tommy’s wife, Maria. Tommy’s real age is never discussed in the game or the live-action show.
However, we do know that Tommy was born in the middle of the 80s, which makes him around 50-51 years old in the first part. Currently, Tommy Miller is predicted to be 55-56 years old, who just set out to find his brother’s killers in TLOU season 2.
6. Jesse
Jesse, one of the promising young men from the Jackson Community, made his debut in season 2. He is a close friend of Ellie and Dina’s ex-boyfriend in the story. Jesse also belongs in the same group as his friends, i.e., in his early 20s in the game. Later, the showrunners have now confirmed Jesse is 23 years old in The Last of Us TV show.
7. Isaac Dixon
Jeffrey Wright, who played Isaac Dixon in the TLOU game, returned to reprise his antagonist role in The Last of Us live-action show. Isaac’s age was never a topic of discussion in the game; however, let’s see if the live-action gives insight into his backstory as they are adding more depth to the WLF storyline. Based on his appearance, one can say Isaac is in his 60s.
