Throughout season 4, our favorite chefs were dealing with their personal problems on top of the heaping issues that hold back their restaurant. Uncle Jimmy literally kicks off this season by presenting a doomsday clock, which, when it ends, the restaurant needs to cease operations in case Carmy and his gang can’t turn around the losses. Thus, we see the creators tying up the main storylines of the main character who strives hard to become a better person, as well as getting better in their job. This naturally results in The Bear restaurant surviving against all the odds thrown at it.

Now, the restaurant is not a huge success and has not received a Michelin star yet. However, it’s still a major victory that needs to be celebrated. Now, there are new plans to expand the beef with mini-franchises, and chef Marcus is now recognized as one of the best chefs by Food and Wine critics.

Now that almost sounded like a fairytale ending for the fourth season, however, it doesn’t end here, as Sydney learns the truth about Carmen’s future after talking with Pete about the new partnership agreement for the restaurant. It is revealed that Carmy requested Pete to remove his name from the partnership. It is now Natalie and Sydney who represent The Bear in partnership with Uncle Jimmy.

Sydney eventually found that Carmy is planning to quit being a chef. When Sydney confronts him, Carmy brings up how she almost left their restaurant to take up Adam’s offer. Sydney apologized for not disclosing the offer to him before, but insists that Carmen stay on the job, as he is so good at it. Carmen then comes clean about how his presence has brought more harm to his fellow chefs and the restaurant than good lately. His struggles with maintaining his mental health directly affected the people surrounding him.

Therefore, Carmen realizes it’s time he hangs up his chef attire and passes down his life work to be continued by Sydney, whom he believes in more than himself. Cousin Ritchie also joins this intense conversation later on. The two finally share their emotional burden regarding Mikey’s death and how they misunderstood each other all this time.

In the end, Sydney confirms she will only agree to Carmen’s offer if Richie is included in the partnership agreement along with her name and Natalie’s. Soon Natalie stumbles upon them in the midst of a serious discussion. Sydney breaks the news to her that her brother Carmy will be leaving the restaurant, and Richie gently tells her that Carmy was present at Mikey’s funeral. The siblings then collapsed into each other’s arms, overwhelmed with emotion.

It should be noted that Carmy doesn’t intend to leave right away. He remarks that his love for cooking has faded, but he will help his crew out with settling the debt and putting their restaurant in a stable place. After achieving that, Carmy will hand over it to Sydney and plans to quit being a chef once and for all. In the previous season’s finale, we saw a “To Be Continued” card, but we only get to see the doomsday clock running out as the final shot of season 4.

All these signs point to the fact that there will be an inevitable Season 5 renewal announcement soon. Yes! Carmy Bear and his friends need one more season to make it out big with their restaurant and wrap it up. While there is no official confirmation of The Bear Season 5 renewal yet, we can expect the announcement soon.
