Since Jun-ho believes that Captain Park saved his life after he was shot, he completely trusts him and takes his crew along the ship to find the Squid Game island. However, it was later revealed in Season 2 that Captain Park works for the Frontman and even killed the drone operator who was helping Jun-ho look for the Squid Game island. In Squid Game Season 3, we see that Woo-seok has already started suspecting Captain Park and is out looking for proof to prove that he is a double agent.

Eventually, Woo-seok found Captain Park’s house and broke in to find information on him and discovered that Captain Park and the Recruiter are related in some way. Captain Park may be the father of the Salesman, based on the photo Woo-seok found in his house. There was even a photo of the ship captain with In-ho, the Frontman, in his house.

On top of that, he also discovered a Squid Game guard uniform and money, indicating that Captain Park is secretly a Squid Game Guard. Captain Park was sent by the Frontman himself so that he could make sure that Jun-ho never managed to find the Squid Game island.

In Squid Game season 3, the ship captain was killed by Detective Woo-seok when he tried to shoot everyone present on the boat. Park revealed in his dying moments that he was simply following the order, clearing that he was indeed the villain all along and following order from the Frontman.
