Making a massive comeback, Squid Game is back with another season continuing the tale of Seong Gi-hu, the sole survivor of the game. By the end of Season 1, we get the confirmation of him going back into the game to make sure that he puts a stop to it. Initially, people thought that Squid Game was going to be a one-and-done series with no further seasons but this continuation of the story was received with massive hype. Now that the trailer for Squid Game 2 has been released, let’s take a look at the cast set to appear in Squid Game Season 2.
1. Lee Jung-Jae as Seong Gi-Hun
Lee Jung-Jae will reprise his role as Seong Gi-Hun, the winner of the previous Squid Game we saw in season 1. However, this time around, he does not wish to make money out of it. Instead, he wants to participate in the game to put an end to it.
There are not a lot of details available about Squid Game Season 2 but it seems that this time around, he will be much more fierce, and instead of trying to compete in the game, might try to sabotage it. The trailer as well does not tell us anything at all about the plot so it will all be a big surprise for the fans.
2. Lee Byung-hun as The Front Man
The Front Man was one of the most mysterious characters in Squid Game. He was the one running the game and was thought to be the creator of it by Seong Gi-Hun but later on, the truth turned out to be very different.
Squid Game Season 1 also gave us a massive revelation telling us that The Front Man was none other than the missing brother of Jun-Ho whom he thought to be dead. Jun-Ho only knew that his brother went to the Squid Game and to find out what happened to him, he sneaked into the game as well.
3. Gong Yoo as The Recruiter
Gong Yoo appears in Squid Game Season 1 as The Recruiter who chooses people to bring into the game. He is the one who approached Seong Gi-Hun for a game of Dadakji. He approaches his target with a briefcase full of money and says that they can have it if they win the game.
If the person he approached manages to win, he gives them a card with a number that if they call on, are recruited in the Squid Game. He did the same with Seong Gi-Hun and now, it seems as if he will be back at it again in Squid Game Season 2.
4. Wi Ha-jun as Hwang Jun-Ho
Hwang Jun-Ho played by Wi Ha-Jun is a police detective who is actively trying to find out what happened to his brother. He was certain about the fact that his brother participated in the Squid Game, whose existence he figured out with his investigation. To find out what happened to his brother, he needed to somehow get to the game which he eventually did by sneaking into one of the cars posing as a player.
Later on, he discovers that his brother won the 2015 Squid Game and became The Frontman. By the end of the series, Jun-Ho was shot by The Frontman, and his fate was left unknown to us. However, since he is confirmed to appear in season 2, he certainly survived but how he did so will be shown to us in Squid Game Season 2.
