How to Get Solgaleo in Pokemon GO

There are three different ways to get a Solgaleo in Pokemon GO. Here’s a list of them:

1. Raids: Participating in 5-star raids is the best way to get a Solgaleo in Pokemon GO. You can even take part in Raid Hours on Wednesdays, whenever Solgaleo appears as a raid boss. Before that, you need to save your Raid Passes or buy from the in-game shop using PokeCoins.
2. Event-themed Special Research Tasks: Besides the Pokemon GO Raid Boss, sometimes special event-themed Special Research Tasks can give you an encounter with the Pokemon. However, as of now, there are no event Special Researches that reward a Solgaleo encounter. The Special Research for “The Dusk Settles” event in 2024 rewarded players with a Solgaleo encounter when completed, but it has already expired.
3. Evolve Cosmog: You can also evolve your Cosmog into Cosmeom using 25 Cosmog candies, and Cosmeom into Solgaleo during the day using 100 Cosmog candies.
4. GO Battle League encounter: Finally, a Solgaleo can be obtained is by participating in Pokemon GO Battle League ranked matches. After reaching rank 20, there is a slight chance to encounter an ongoing raid of a Legendary Pokemon, with the pool of others.

Fusing Solgaleo with Necrozma in Pokemon GO

Solgaleo can be fused with a Necrozma using Solar Fusion Energy to get a Dusk Mane Necrozma.

The only way to get Solar Fusion Energy is by defeating Dusk Mane Necrozma in raids. Each raid battle can give you a minimum of 80 Fusion Energy, and more, depending on the raid performance and bonus challenge. If you were to calculate the total energy needed to fuse, it would be 1000 Solar Fusion Energy. To get them, you need to complete at least 10 Dusk Mane Necrozma raids.

With 1000 Solar Fusion Energy, you need 30 Cosmog Candy, 30 Necrozma Candy, a Solgaleo, and a Necrozma. Once you have them all, fuse your Solgaleo with Necrozma by clicking on the Fuse option above the Power Up button.

You’ll mostly fuse your Necrozma with Solgaleo to get Sunsteel Strike Charged Attack on your Dusk Mane Necrozma. This is one of the best moves in the game and has a special Adventure effect.

It can be activated using 3,000 Stardust and 3 Necrozma Candy, and lasts for up to 10 minutes. The Adventure effect works similarly to incense but attracts daytime exclusive Pokemon only. With the effect active, Pokemon that can only evolve during the day will be able to evolve at any time.

Note:

The stats of your Dusk Mane Necrozma depends on the Necrozma, and not the Solgaleo. Fusing your best Necrozma with the weakest Solgaleo is recommended. That way you can still use your stronger Solgaleo in battles, without making them unavailable.

Can Shiny Solgaleo Be Found in Pokemon GO?

As of now, there is no shiny Solgaleo in Pokemon GO. However, when released, it will have a base shiny rate of 1 in 20, similar to other legendaries.

Where is Solgaleo Ranked in Pokemon GO Meta?

If you are looking to see about Solgaleo’s rankings in the current Pokemon GO Meta, then here’s a complete analysis:

• Raid Attacker: Solgaleo isn’t a great Raid Attacker. However, Dusk Mane Necrozma is considered a top-tier Raid Attacker, boasting high defense, attack, and stamina.
• Gym Defender: Solgaleo, being a legendary Pokemon cannot defend Gyms.
• Steel Type Attacker: Solgaleo ranks in the top 70 Steel-type attackers with Zen Headbutt and Iron Head. However, Pokemon like Dusk Mane Necrozma, Mega Metagross, and Crowned Sword Zacian are ruling as the best options.
• Psychic Type Attacker: Solgaleo is ranked similarly in the best Psychic-type attacker category. It ranks in the top 70, with Zen Headbutt and Psychic Fangs. However, Dusk Mane Necrozma ranks in the top 3 of the category.
• Ultra League: Solgaleo is considered a top 345 Pokemon, and isn’t a worthy choice for Ultra League. As its strength scales with the level, they are usually at their lowest around 2500 CP.
