Miraidon EX is the most anticipated chase card in the Paradox Drive expansion. It stands out as one of the strongest meta cards in the set and serves as the centerpiece of one of the best Pokemon TCG Pocket decks currently available.

  • HP: 140
  • Stage: Basic
  • Type: Lightning
  • Ability:
    • Legendary Drive – Once during your turn, when you put this Pokemon from your hand onto your Bench, you may switch it with your Active Pokemon. If you do, move all of your Energy in play to this Pokemon.
  • Attack 1:
    • Hadron Ray – 20+ damage (3 Colorless Energy needed)
    • This attack does 20 more damage for each Lightning Energy attached to this Pokemon.
  • Weakness: Fighting +20
  • Retreat Cost: 2 Colorless Energy
  • EX Rule: When your Pokemon EX is Knocked Out, your opponent gets 2 points.

Pokemon TCG Pocket Miraidon EX Deck Strategy

Unlike most other decks, Miraidon EX works more as a late-game finisher that takes control toward the end of the match. During the early turns, your main focus should be setting up Magnezone and Pom-Pom Oricorio. Try to place either Magnemite or Pom-Pom Oricorio in the Active Spot on turn one. From there, evolve Magnemite into Magneton as quickly as possible to generate an extra Lightning Energy every turn.

Once you have around 5 to 7 Energy ready, bring in Miraidon EX. If you don’t have it in your hand yet, use the new Professor Turo card to search for it. As you already know, Miraidon EX’s Ability allows it to switch into the Active Spot once per turn without any cost. On top of that, all the Energy attached to your Benched Pokemon gets transferred to Miraidon EX, letting it attack immediately and pressure the opponent.

That said, since Miraidon EX is a Lightning-type card, you need to be careful against Fighting decks. Cards like Mega Lucario EX and Mega Lopunny EX can deal massive damage to it because of weakness advantage. In these matchups, consider using support cards like Cyrus to control the board or Pokemon Centre Lady to keep your Pokemon healthy.

That’s everything you need to know about the best Pokemon TCG Pocket Miraidon EX deck. Are you planning to build this deck? Let us know in the comments below.
