Although we’re still just a couple of days away from Samsung’s Unpacked event, there’s not a lot left to be uncovered about these devices. Thanks to all the leaks, we have a pretty good idea of what to expect at the Unpacked 2018 event on February 25th. Now, Evan Blass, who has been quite consistent with his Galaxy S9 leaks, has revealed the final and probably the most important piece of the puzzle – Pricing.
According to his tweet, the Galaxy S9 will apparently start at €841, whereas the Galay S9 Plus will cost €997. Going by the current conversion rates, the prices roughly translates to about $1,038 for the S9 and a massive $1,229 for the S9 Plus. Well, that’s a lot of money.
Although direct currency conversions are never accurate when it comes to phone prices, it still gives us an idea. The reported pricing puts the new Samsung flagships right next to Apple’s most expensive iPhone, the iPhone X. However, whether or not these prices include taxes, which can run around 19% to 20% in Europe, is unclear. If it does include taxes, then the US pricing will likely be much less than this.
It is also worth making a note that the suggested pricing is for the base variant (64GB). If the leaks and rumors are something to go by, then the devices will be offered with storage variants upto 256GB. So yes, the most expensive variant of the Galaxy S9+ will likely cost over a $1,000. Luckily we don’t have to wait for a long time to find out the pricing. In India, Flipkart will be selling the Galaxy S9 and the S9 Plus, and we’ll likely have pricing info for the Indian variants very soon.
