How to Get Reshiram in Pokemon GO

Reshiram Raids

There are three different ways to get a Reshiram in Pokemon GO. Here’s a list of them:

  1. Raids: The primary and quicker way to get Reshiram in Pokemon GO by participating in 5-star raids. Reshiram will be available in the 5-star raids from December 13 to December 22, 2025. You can also join the upcoming Raid Hour happening on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, as all the gyms will feature Reshiram raids from 6 PM to 7 PM local time. Reshiram caught will be able to learn its legacy move, Fusion Flare*. Make sure you have enough Raid Passes; if not, you can buy them using PokeCoins. Remember to stock up on Potions, Revives, and Berries too.
  2. Event-themed Special Research Tasks: Other than defeating Pokemon GO Raid Boss, you can sometimes encounter Reshiram by completing event-themed Special Research Tasks. Currently, there are no event Special Researches that reward a Reshiram encounter. The Special Research for Road to Unova rewarded players with a Reshiram encounter when completed, but it has already expired. You need to actively play the game to not miss out on these events, or you can bookmark our article, as we will update it frequently.
  3. GO Battle League encounter: The last method to get a Reshiram is by participating in Pokemon GO Battle League. Once you reach rank 20 in GBL, there is a slight chance to encounter a Legendary Pokemon featured in raids, with the pool of other available Pokemon. This isn’t an easy feat, and the chance of encountering one is very random.

Fusing Reshiram with Kyurem in Pokemon GO

You can fuse your Reshiram with a Kyurem in Pokemon GO using Blaze Fusion Energy to get a White Kyurem.

You can get Blaze Fusion Energy by defeating White Kyurem in raids. Each raid battle yields a minimum of 80 Fusion Energy, and sometimes more, depending on the raid speed and bonus challenge. To get 1000 Blaze Fusion Energy, you need to complete at least 10 Reshiram raids.

Along with 1000 Blaze Fusion Energy, you need to make sure that you have 30 Kyurem Candy, 30 Reshiram Candy, a Kyurem, and a Reshiram. With all these resources ready, you can fuse your Reshiram with Kyurem by clicking on the Fuse option of your choice of Kyurem.

We recommend fusing a Kyurem with the move Glaciate* to get the legacy moves White Kyurem, and utilise their Adventure Effects. Ice Burn is the Adventure Effect of White Kyurem, which slows down the aim ring when catching Pokemon for 10 minutes, making the Pokemon easier to catch.

Note:

The stats of your White Kyurem depends on the Kyurem, and not the Reshiram. Fusing the best Kyurem with the weakest Reshiram is ideal. That way you can still use your stronger Reshiram in battles, without making them unavailable.

Can Shiny Reshiram Be Found in Pokemon GO?

Shiny Reshiram

Yes, shiny Reshiram can be found in Pokemon GO. Like other Legendaries, Reshiram has a base shiny rate of 1 in 20. This means you can encounter one shiny for every 20 Reshiram raids. The shiny rate is significantly lower compared to any wild Pokemon spawn and spotlight hour spawns.

However, you don’t have to worry as getting a shiny White Kyurem doesn’t require a shiny Reshiram. You simply need a shiny Kyurem for that.

Where is Reshiram Ranked in Pokemon GO Meta?

Reshiram is one of the strongest Fire and Dragon-type Pokemon in the current Pokemon GO Meta. Here’s a complete analysis of Reshiram’s rankings:

  • Raid Attacker: Reshiram is one of the best Raid Attackers with high defense, attack, and stamina. Due to the stats, Reshiram has a good TDO, allowing it to deal as much damage as possible while surviving. Reshiram also competes with some top Mega Evolutions, Shadow Pokemon, and more.
  • Gym Defender: As a Legendary Pokemon, Reshiram cannot defend Gyms.
  • Dragon Type Attacker: Reshiram ranks in the top 30 Dragon-type attackers with Dragon Breath and Draco Meteor as its moveset. Pokemon like Eternatus, Mega Rayquaza, Mega Salamance, and Dialga are still a better option.
  • Fire Type Attacker: While Reshiram falls behind in the Dragon type attacker category, it stands among the top 5 Fire type attackers. With Fire Fang and Fusion Flare*, you can deal a lot of fire damage while tanking moves.
  • Ultra League: Reshiram has ranks in the top 400, and you don’t want to use it in this league. Ultra League requires at least 2500 CP, and Reshiram, being a legendary Pokemon, its stats will get lower with its level and CP, making it a very bad choice.
  • Master League: On the other hand, Reshiram shines the most in Master League with a whopping rank of top 10. Master League is filled with Fairy, Dragon, and Steel type Pokemon, and Reshiram, being a Fire Dragon, has a lot of play in this league.

That said, Reshiram is one of the best Legendary Pokemon in Pokemon GO. It is also returning in December 2025 raids, so make sure that you don’t miss out on this powerhouse.
