- Villagers in LEGO Fortnite are more interactive and useful than any other survival game, such as Minecraft, making the single-player experience lively and fun.
- Villagers can help you with multiple jobs that include gathering resources, crafting useful items, protecting you from enemies, and even chatting.
- LEGO Fortnite will be adding more villager-centric content and interactions, along with new types of villagers, in future updates.
When it comes to survival games, friendly NPCs have always been part and parcel of the experience. Be it Minecraft or any other game, villagers are just there to exist and not do anything special. Well, that’s not the case with the villagers in LEGO Fortnite. There are so many things the villagers can do in LEGO Fortnite, from making sure you do not feel alone on your lonesome adventure to being the helping hand you need in resource gathering, combat, or cooking.
You can recruit or remove villagers any time you want in your LEGO world by talking to them. They also come with a set of special skills so you get the best services, depending on who you’ve recruited. However, the villagers are capable of doing almost any task you throw at them, making them a part of the experience that makes the game feel complete. Here are the reasons why I think the villagers of LEGO Fortnite make this game livelier and fun to play even in solitude.
1. They are Guiding Lights (at the Start)
The first time I launched LEGO Fortnite, I knew it would be another survival game where I would end up running around, gathering wood and stone and whatnot, and feeling alone and tired after a while. Not only that but where to even begin is also a concern for a newbie in any survival game.
All those doubts vanished as soon as I arrived in my own LEGO world and Brit Bomber (one of the many starter villagers in LEGO Fortnite) was there to welcome me. She greeted me the moment I spawned in and helped me with all the basic tips for surviving the first day in-game.
The initial hand-holding and direction of what I needed to do made me feel comfortable and learn the basics. Unlike Minecraft, where you end up feeling like a headless chicken as soon as you start the game, LEGO Fortnite offers you a healing hand, a companion.
My starter villager also made sure I didn’t feel alone as soon as I created the world. She was always around to greet me and share plans on what I should do next.
2. Talking to Villagers is Helpful
Even after playing the game for 40+ hours, I am not even close to completing the game, well, thanks to these villagers. No, I don’t mean it in the wrong way.
One of the main reasons is I’m always distracted and talking to villagers as it is so much fun. It never bores you and they keep sharing a lot of cool facts about the game or themselves with you. Trust me when I say I do not miss human interactions in the game anymore, thanks to these villagers.
Along with wisdom and chatter, they also share secret recipes with you. When did your friend even share a secret with you? Never, right? All you have to do is have a little chit-chat with the villager to grab yourself a recipe for some knives, forks, or even a flower pot. And that’s what I love about their presence in-game. Yeah, they don’t just spam “HUH” sounds like the Minecraft villagers.
3. You Never Feel Alone (Even in Combat)
The villagers are also your combat companions and have your back when you take on a creature or animal in LEGO Fortnite. A lot of survival games spam enemies in your face and don’t understand that enemies can be hard to defeat. So, most of the time, you are on your own.
Yeah, fighting endless mobs can feel repetitive if you are doing it alone. That’s not the case in LEGO Fortnite. Whenever you are around a villager and an enemy is trying to attack you, they will step up and take a bullet for you. They feel a responsibility towards the village and can beat the heck out of skeletons at night; that too without assigning them a combat task.
Moreover, you can ask a villager to be your companion for the worldly adventures you go on. Yeah, you heard that right, the villagers will follow you around as you explore LEGO Fortnite seeds. Just make sure you gift your villagers some weapons that they can use to protect you. Ultimately, I can now go on to fight bosses without asking my (non-existent) friends to help me out!
4. Your Helping Hands
The villagers in LEGO Fortnite actually lend you a hand when you do something, unlike other survival games. While you go on adventures and you gift your combat companion a tool to mine or chop trees, they will do it with you. Yeah, no more grinding on breaking stuff and chopping trees forever alone. When your companions lend a hand, work is done faster and enjoyable.
Apart from lending a hand in the work you are actively doing, villagers can help do things that will take you forever. Luckily, the villagers are exceptionally talented at crafting stuff.
Crafting things can consume a lot of time since you need to collect resources, refine them, and then make the final product. However, you can ask the villagers to do it all, and they will finish it in fewer minutes; possibly within one day and night cycle in LEGO Fortnite. I can just ask my villager to craft some textiles before I go out an explore. I am sure they will be done before I return.
5. Make Your Village Feel Like Home
Ever felt that villagers in other games do not act like villagers or follow instructions? Well, in LEGO Fortnite, villagers are there to serve the village that you lead. They work to better the village and are good at finding food, wood, or any other resources.
You would not want to roam around petting animals and collecting fertilizer all day. While you just go do your thing, they will make sure the village is still in check. They’ll even protect it against any attacks at night.
The LEGO Fortnite villagers in general complete the village experience. Each villager can serve the role they are assigned. This makes them one of the key parts of the village and not just dumb NPCs. As a leader of your village, it is your job to select the right soul for your village.
These are the reasons why I think LEGO Fortnite villagers are the heart and soul of the game. As per the rumors, the villagers will get better combat utility in upcoming updates. They are also said to be receiving more ways to share new recipes with you.
However, what I would love is a shared inventory space, so I can share and take back items to save some space in my inventory when I am out exploring with them. It would also be amazing if the developers added more villagers who help you with other utilities.
For now, there is much more content coming in the future that will make them fun, helpful buddies even better. I just want more villagers in my village, enhancing my LEGO Fortnite experience.
Now, I am going to dance battle with my companions in the game. You tell us what you like about the villagers of LEGO Fortnite. Do you think they are superior to other survival game NPCs?
