Previously, we saw that Kimiko’s parents were killed by the Shining Light Liberation Army, and her brother was also kidnapped by them. Kimiko was captured by the terrorist organization and made to work for them. After some years, she was sent to America where she underwent Compound V testing and became a supe with regenerative powers.
The Boys Season 4 revealed to us that when Shining Light took Kimiko and she was being trained to fight, they made her fight against other girls and whoever made noise first after getting injured would be killed. Kimiko, to survive, killed multiple girls and when she tried to speak after that, she just couldn’t.
So, The Boys Season 4 revealed that the reason why Kimiko cannot talk is the guilt of killing innocent girls for her survival. She tells this story to Frenchie to make him understand that she gets how he feels and he can talk to her if he ever needs to about any of the things he has done before, including killing Colin’s family.
However, in The Boys Season 4 finale, we finally heard Kimiko speak as Frenchie was taken away by Cate using her powers.
