Peacemaker Season 2 brought us a cameo from none other than Lex Luthor, but this time around, Lex is in a rather desperate state. After his stint with Superman, he was locked up in a meta-human prison, and when Rick Flag Sr. visited him seeking help to track down Peacemaker, he asked for freedom. Flag promises him that he will be transferred to a human prison with no metahumans around. As Flag walked out of there, he told Sasha that he would get Lex transferred to a prison called Van Kull. So, where is this prison Lex Luthor is being transferred to in Peacemaker Season 2? Let’s find out.
What Is Van Kull in DC?
After talking to Lex, Rick Flag Sr. tells Sasha that he will get Luthor transferred to Van Kull. Now, while Flag tells Lex Luthor that it is an all-human prison, DC Comics tells us a rather different story. According to DC comics, Van Kull is a meta-human prison located just outside of Metropolis. The prison was first seen in Power Company: Bork #1, released in March 2002, and even in the comics, it is known for having Lex Luthor as a recurring inmate. Other than that, this prison has also made its appearance in the Supergirl series, set in the Arrowverse.
Now, if the original prison, which goes by the same name in the DCU, is meant for holding meta-humans, and Rick told Lex that he would get him transferred to a human-only prison, there is a good chance that the DCU has once again decided to do a thing of its own.
Maybe, Rick Flag, in classic Rick Flag mannerism, lied to Lex to get him to do what he wants. Whatever the case may be, this cameo from Lex Luthor in Peacemaker was fun to witness and I am only certain that there’s more to come in the upcoming episodes.
