Gunko is the first God’s Knight to be officially revealed in the One Piece Elbaf arc. If you have been keenly following the latest chapters, you might have noticed that all God’s Knights members except Gunko were properly introduced as celestial dragons with a saint title and their family names. But Gunko was disclosed as just a Holy Knight member. This led manga readers to question why Oda is intentionally withholding details about Gunko’s origins.

While the creator may have kept her past cloaked in secrecy at first, he slowly started to unravel it in the most recent chapters, such as Gunko’s mysterious relationship with Brook and connection with Imu. Now, Oda has gone back to revise Gunko’s introduction in One Piece with volume 112. Changes have been made to both Shamrock and Gunko’s introduction boxes.

Gunko is officially a Celestial Dragon, aka World Noble, in the One Piece story, as she is bestowed with the title of Saintess. Moreover, it is now confirmed that Gunko hails from the Manmayer family. It was expected that Gunko would be in the same family as Imu, which is Nerona, but Oda has surprised the fans with a twist.

If you are feeling like you have heard about the Manmayer family somewhere, your memory serves you right. An unknown female from the Manmayer family participated in the Native Hunting Competition at God Valley along with Figarland Garling. With Gunko’s reveal, it makes us wonder if she has been a God’s Knight member in the past, which might explain why Gunko is the next in the family line to become a Holy Knight now.

We would have to wait to find out more about the Manmayer family and Gunko’s relationship with the unknown woman. That said, let us know your thoughts about Gunko revealed to be a Manmayer in the comments below.
