Jiki Jiki no Mi is one of the most broken devil fruit powers in the hands of the right person. Eustass “Captain” Kid was able to make a name for himself as one of the strongest pirates of the worst generation. However, fans have always wanted to know who the previous user of the Magnet-Magnet Devil Fruit was in the previous era. As Oda let the previous gen pirates take the center stage in God Valley flashback, at last, the user who wielded the Jiki Jiki no Mi is revealed in One Piece chapter 1163.
Spoilers Warning: This article contains spoilers about the previous users of Jiki Jiki no Mi. Proceed with caution.
Who Was the Previous User of Jiki Jiki No Mi?

The Jiki Jiki no Mi is one of the best Devil Fruits in One Piece. Eustass Kid is the current owner of the Jiki Jiki no Mi in One Piece. Eustass Kid’s bounty skyrocketed to 3 billion berries after he defeated Big Mom along with Law. That was all possible with his magnetic power. But what about the previous user of Jiki Jiki no Mi? The clues have been there all along from the start.
In a surprise turn of events, Captain John of the Rocks Pirates is confirmed to be the last known user of the Jiki Jiki no Mi devil fruit. In the previous chapters, John was seen with a metal arm in a tiny panel, which led us to speculate that he could have been the previous user of the Magnet-Magnet Devil Fruit. But fans also began to learn towards the idea of him being a cyborg just like Franky.
Now we don’t have to speculate anymore, as Captain John finally used his Jiki Jiki no Mi power during the God Valley incident. When Imu arrived, all the pirates began to snatch some treasures and escape. Meanwhile, Captain John decided to betray his fellow Rocks Pirates and used his magnetic power to attract all the treasure boxes around him.
Unfortunately, he was shot down by his crew member, Ganzui, shortly after he used his Devil Fruit powers. However, we now have confirmation that Captain John was the original user of the Jiki Jiki no Mi devil fruit in One Piece.
The Connection Between Captain John and Eustass Kid
If you remember well, Kid was introduced as Eustass “Captain” Kid, and he is believed to have been inspired by William Kidd, a real-life pirate. He is also known as Captain Kidd, and this is where things get interesting. William had a father named Captain John Kidd, and he was also a pirate in his time. Thus, fans have always expected Kid to be related to Captain John in the story somehow.
Though we didn’t know if they were related by blood, i.e., as father and son. Now we have the confirmation that both these characters are users of the same devil fruit, Jiki Jiki no Mi. In addition, remember the armband Luffy gave to Buggy, which is the key to finding Captain John’s treasure?
With all the recent reveals, we highly believe that the arm band will only react to the magnetic forces. So, we think Eustass Kid still has some role to play in the One Piece series after his defeat against Emperor Shanks.
