The opening and ending songs of an anime series always stick with us even after the anime comes to a conclusion. In line with its fellow long-running shonen anime, the My Hero Academia anime features a ton of opening and ending songs that made their way into fans’ hearts over the years. With MHA coming to an end with season 8, let’s take a nostalgic ride today to discover all the My Hero Academia opening and ending songs right here.
All My Hero Academia Opening Songs
Apart from the first and final seasons of My Hero Academia, every other season featured two openings as it aired as two separate cours. Therefore, there are 14 My Hero Academia openings in total, and they are listed in seasonal order below:
1. My Hero Academia Opening 1: “The Day by Porno Graffitti”
This is where it all began! The Day by Porno Graffitti is an iconic opening of the MHA series that kicked off the superhero drama. The first opening is all about the glimpses of Izuku Midoriya’s origin tale. Also, it introduces the Class 1-A characters and other characters like All Might, Kurogiri, Tomura, etc, who were the main cast of MHA season 1.
2. My Hero Academia Opening 2: “Peace Sign by Kenshi Yonezu”
Kenshi Yonezu is a popular artist now known for his opening songs for the Chainsaw Man anime. But do you remember that this legend delivered an amazing opening for MHA? The first opening of MHA’s second season showcases the young heroes training and gearing up for the U.A. Sports Festival.
3. My Hero Academia Opening 3: “Sora ni Utaeba by Amazarashi”
The first half of My Hero Academia’s second season wrapped up the Sports Festival. The second half is another thrilling ride where the young heroes from U.A. take up their first duty to gain experience from the Pro Heroes. The second opening of season 2 highlights the heroes gearing up for action.
4. My Hero Academia Opening 4: “Odd Future by UVERworld”
Following the fantastic openings of the first two seasons, UVERworld came to produce a new opening titled Odd Future for MHA. The fourth opening is a montage of all the young and Pro Heroes, along with the main villains of the third season.
5. My Hero Academia Opening 5: “Make My Story by Lenny Fiction”
The budding heroes had to get their professional license at one point, and it was no easy task. As the second half of MHA season 3 covers the Provisional Hero License Exam arc, the second cour’s opening by Lenny Fiction offers a sneak-peek at Class 1-A’s opponents from other schools.
6. My Hero Academia Opening 6: “Polaris by Blue Encount”
MHA season 4 opens up with the Shie Hassakai arc, where Deku has to go up against a yakuza member to rescue a little girl named Eri. The sixth MHA opening, Polaris by Blue Encount, teases the events of this arc along with the other heroes during their internship in Pro Heroes’ agencies.
7. My Hero Academia Opening 7: “Star Marker by Kana-boon”
The School Festival is one of my favorite wholesome arcs in the MHA series, as it is for many fans. You might have already heard a great opening, Silhouette by Kana-boon for Naruto. The same artist joined MHA to create an uplifting track where the U.A. students prepare to enjoy their first school festival.
8. My Hero Academia Opening 8: “No.1 by Dish”
We are off to see a joint training battle once again, but this time, class 1-B also joins the party. The clash between the students of Class 1-A and 1-B is the main focus of the beginning half of MHA season 5. Meet all the students and their respective teachers in this memorable opening No.1 by Dish.
9. My Hero Academia Opening 9: “Merry-Go-Round by Man With a Mission”
In contrast to its former half, the latter half of MHA season 5 primarily revolves around the antagonists from the League of Villains and the Meta Liberation Army. In between, we get to see Izuku, Shoto, and Bakugo gaining wisdom working alongside Endeavor, as hinted in this ninth MHA opening Merry-Go-Round by Man with a Mission.
10. My Hero Academia Opening 10: “Hitamuki by Super Beaver”
The sixth season of MHA is where the series enters a full-on serious tone, with the war between heroes and villains beginning. With a comical style, opening animations, and a superb song from Super Beaver, the Paranormal Liberation War arc commenced on a great note in season 6.
11. My Hero Academia Opening 11: “Bokurano by Eve”
Deku becomes a lone wolf and decides to defeat everyone by himself by moving away from his friends. Now, the second opening of season 6, Bokurano by Eve, perfectly captures the emotions of the heroes in the Dark Hero arc, especially Deku. You can also catch a glimpse of Deku vs Lady Nagant and Shigaraki in this darkly beautiful opening.
12. My Hero Academia Opening 12: “Tagatame by TK”
Things aren’t the same anymore in the MHA series, as MHA suddenly enters a dark era in comparison to its light-hearted tone in the previous seasons. As we are in the middle of the final war, the 12th opening Tagatame by TK introduces us to the various characters and factions of the final war and marks the beginning of the end.
13. My Hero Academia Opening 13: “Curtain Call by Yuuri”
Everyone’s tale in MHA is coming to a close after AFO orchestrates the great final war between the superheroes and villains. There is no time for resting, the Curtain Call opening showcases each hero and their respective adversary they need to overcome to bring home the win.
14. My Hero Academia Opening 14: “The Revo by Porno Graffitti”
Porno Graffitti, the artist behind the legendary first opening song of My Hero Academia, returned to deliver another glorious opening for the final season of My Hero Academia. This is indeed the end as all the heroes unite together to exterminate the great evil (Tomura and AFO) from the face of Earth.
All My Hero Academia Anime Ending Songs
It’s the same case as the openings here with MHA ending songs. It equally features 14 endings from various artists, and they are as follows:
1. My Hero Academia Ending 1: “Heroes by Brian the Sun”
Izuku Midoriya is the biggest fanboy when it comes to All Might. The visuals of the first ending are all about Izuku’s admiration for his idol and chasing the dream of becoming a great hero like him one day. Brian the Sun, composed a fitting song for the heroes.
2. My Hero Academia Ending 2: “Dakara, Hitori ja Nai by Little Glee Monster”
The second ending of MHA is for the girls! There are many best MHA female characters, and this ending mostly focuses on the ones from Class 1-A. The song title, Dakara, Hitori ja Nai, translates to you are not alone and is a fitting title for a beautiful song.
3. My Hero Academia Ending 3: “Datte Atashi no Hiro by LiSA”
Everyone must have listened to the famous Gurenge opening by LiSA from Demon Slayer. The incredible LiSA also composed an ending song for My Hero Academia. Datte Atashi no Hiro means You are my hero, and this ending reimagines our favorite heroes in a medieval fantasy setting, which is a dream come true for fans.
4. My Hero Academia Ending 4: “Update by Miwa”
Update by Miwa is one of the catchiest ending songs in MHA. On top of such a good song, the daily lives of the Class 1-A students are animated inside panels of a classic comic book style, making it one of the best endings of MHA easily.
5. My Hero Academia Ending 5: “Long Hope Philia by Masaki Suda”
The opening shot of Long Shot Philia by Masaki Suda always reminds me of Eren Yeager standing on the beach in AOT. This ending particularly recounts all the people who are close to our protagonist, Izuku Midoriya, as he runs on the shore and eventually meets them.
6. My Hero Academia Ending 6: “Koukai no Uta by Sayuri”
Eri’s life has been full of miseries until Lemillion and Deku stepped in to rescue her from the tragedy. This ending, titled Koukai no Uta, which means a song of regret, is an apt title for the ending that depicts the entire life of Eri in one.
7. My Hero Academia Ending 7: “Shout Baby by Ryokuoushoku Shakai”
Ever wondered what your favorite heroes and teachers’ young version looks like? The seventh ending, Shout Baby by Ryoukuoushoku Shaki, takes you on a ride back in time to show a collage of the past as the young heroes ponder.
8. My Hero Academia Ending 8: “Ashiato by The Peggies”
Ashiato by The Peggies is the eighth ending of the MHA series. This is a wholesome ending where all the main characters go shopping to gather things to celebrate someone’s birthday. Even after all these years, it’s still a mystery, but some fans say it should have been Eri’s birthday, while a few say it was Kirishima who celebrated.
9. My Hero Academia Ending 9: “Uso ja Nai by Soushi Sakiyama”
Soushi Sakiyama’s Uso Ja Nai ending song is completely dedicated to the Pro Hero Hawks. Meaning, it’s not a lie, this ending recaps the life of Hawks, and our favorite heroes can be seen in their adorable winter outfits.
10. My Hero Academia Ending 10: “Sketch by Kiro Akiyama”
Kiro Akiyama’s Sketch, the tenth ending of My Hero Academia, creates an interesting parallel between the superheroes and villains as they gear up for the final battle, which will decide the fate of the world.
11. My Hero Academia Ending 11: “Kitakaze by Six Lounge”
Kitakaze is yet another lovely ending from the MHA team. This ending essentially recaps all the main events of the series from the eyes of Izuku Midoriya in the background as he dreams for a moment. As he wakes up, he gets to see them all waiting for him.
12. My Hero Academia Ending 12: “Tsubomi by Omoinotake”
Tsubomi literally translates to flower bud. As the title implies, this ending is all about villains and heroes reminiscing about their tragic moments in their childhood. In a way, this is one of the saddest endings we have ever seen in MHA.
13. My Hero Academia Ending 13: “Rokutousei by Zarame”
My Hero Academia anime will never stop presenting the fans with stunning endings. The penultimate ending is nothing short of a beauty, where all the main heroes and villains are floating underwater along with Zarame’s Rokutousei track.
14. My Hero Academia Ending 14: ” I by Bump of Chicken”
Hands down, the ending of the final season of MHA is the best ending of all. It’s a tailor-made ending for Deku where it recaps all of his life from the moment he received his quirk from All Might to his final battle against Tomura Shigaraki. On one hand, we have a sweet song from Bump of Chicken, and the extraordinary visuals for Deku’s story simply excel everything we have seen.
And that’s a wrap to our list of all the My Hero Academia openings and endings in order. All these MHA songs from various artists brought us for a decade. That said, what is your favorite MHA opening or ending? Let us know in the comments below.
