Motorola One Vision with 21:9 Punch-hole Display, Exynos Chipset Launched in India

Motorola One Vision launched in India: specs, features and price

In the uber-competitive budget segment of India, dominated by Chinese phone makers like Xiaomi and Realme, Motorola has been struggling to find a strong foothold for the past few months. The Motorola One Power may have been one of the only devices in the company’s catalog to gain mass acceptance last year. Hence, Motorola is today expanding its popular One-series with the launch of the Motorola One Vision in India and it features a lot of firsts for the company.

Motorola One Vision: Price and Availability

The Motorola One Vision comes only in a single configuration with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage, which has been priced at Rs 19,999 for the India market. It will be available in bronze and sapphire gradient color variants, with sales starting next week exclusively on Flipkart.

Motorola One Vision: Specs and Features

Motorola One Vision brings along a complete glass build, which is an upgrade over the metallic build of the One Power, and Gorilla Glass has been used to give it some added protection. The first highlight of this smartphone will obviously have to be the display.

This is the first Motorola device with a punch-hole, as well as a taller 21:9 aspect ratio, something we had first seen on the Sony Xperia 1 at MWC 2019 earlier this year. It’s a 6.3-inch Full-HD+ LTPS LCD panel, which Motorola likes to call a CineVision display, with a 1080x2520p resolution and a pixel density of 432ppi. The punch-hole located on One Vision’s top left, with a 25MP (f/2.0) selfie camera seated in the same.

Another first for this smartphone will have to be the chipset, which isn’t a Snapdragon or Mediatek chipset that it has used before. Instead, Motorola One Vision is powered by the Exynos 9609 chipset from Samsung. It’s an octa-core chipset clocked at 2.2GHz and has the Mali-G72 MP3 GPU aboard to handle your gaming needs. This is paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, expandable up to 512GB via microSD card.

As for the camera department, the smartphone features a vertically-aligned dual-camera setup on the back. It includes a primary 48MP (f/1.7) sensor with OIS and PDAF support and secondary 5MP (f/2.2) depth sensor. This is the third highlight of the Motorola One Vision as it was the first device from the company to sport a 48MP sensor.

You get a ton of camera features baked in the device, such as Auto HDR, manual mode, best shot, Google Lens integration, and also the Night Vision mode for better low-light photography. There’s a number of AI camera features, such as auto smile capture and portrait lighting baked into the device as well.

Motorola One Vision is part of the Android One program and runs stock Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box, of course, with additional Moto features such as Moto Action and Moto Display onboard. This means you’ll get guaranteed software updates for two years and three years of security updates. The device has a modest 3,500mAh battery pack, which is a downgrade from the 5,000mAh battery pack on the One Power. There’s also support for 15W TurboPower charging baked into the One Vision.

The smartphone offers you the usual connectivity options, including a USB-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack, which would be much appreciated by the users. However, we’re impressed that a mid-range smartphone in the sub-Rs 20,000 price bracket has an IP52 rating, which means it’s safe against minor water splashes and you shouldn’t fear using it near pools.

Though there’s a lot of first in the Motorola One Vision, Indian buyers are looking for the most value-for-money option in the budget and mid-range segment. All the Redmis and Realmes available in a similar or lower price bracket may look more appealing to users is what I’m trying to say. However, I’d like to hear from you, what are your thoughts on the Motorola One Vision? Would you be picking up this smartphone? Let us in the comments section down below.
