Noted tipster, @Xiaomishka, has claimed that Xiaomi will launch the MI MIX 4 on September 24. In an article posted on their official blog, they also said that the company will launch MIUI 11 and unveil the new Mi 9S 5G smartphone on the same day. While @Xiaomishka claims that they got the info from their contacts in China, Xiaomi itself is yet to confirm anything officially.
As for MIUI 11, the report reiterates that it will be based on Android 10 (formerly Android Q) and, according to an earlier tweet from the tipster, will be rolled out to a number of devices, including the Mi 9, Mi 9 Explorer Edition, Mi 9 SE, Mi MIX 3, Redmi K20, K20 Pro and more. According to @Xiaomishka, the update will be rolled out to a whole bunch of other devices as well, including the Redmi Note 7-series, but as part of the second batch.
In case you don’t know it already, Xiaomi has been testing MIUI 11 for several months now, and the beta version of the software is already available for a number of devices. The company’s Product Director and General Manager for MIUI Experience has already revealed that the new software will bring fewer ads and increased system stability as part of the company’s plans to improve user experience.
Xiaomi is also said to be looking at streamlining the software by cutting out some of the bloat it has accumulated over the years. Recent rumors have also suggested that Xiaomi may be looking to introduce a Google Duplex-style calling feature that will allow its AI assistant to answer phone calls for users. Beyond that, there’s currently no official information on any significant new feature that might debut with MIUI 11, but we expect it to deliver an overall more sophisticated experience than its predecessor.
