MIUI 10 Global Stable Update Now Rolling Out To a Number of Xiaomi Devices

MIUI 10 Features

Just a couple weeks after Xiaomi had started rolling out the stable build of its next major software update – MIUI 10 in China, the company has now decided to make the MIUI 10 stable builds available globally, including India. So, if you have any of the devices mentioned below, you should be getting the MIUI 10 update anytime now.

The MIUI 10 Global Stable ROM has now become available for a handful of devices, including the Redmi Note 5, Redmi Note 5 Pro, Mi 6, Mi Mix, Mi Mix 2, Mi 5, Mi Note 2, and the Redmi Y2, which was the first Xiaomi device to witness the rollout of the MIUI 10 stable update earlier this week.

Talking about the specifics, MIUI 10 for all the devices is based on Android 8.0 Oreo, except for the Redmi Note 5 Pro, which is getting Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 10 with this stable update. The update size weighs about 1.5GB, as per MIUI Forums, but we’ll update you once our Redmi Note 5 Pro receives the stable build.

Coming to the highlights of MIUI 10, this much-awaited update brings you the newest Android Pie-like interface with gesture navigation and better optimization in tow. You’ll notice a number of different UI changes across the board, including and especially the redesigned recents menu.

MIUI 10 also bundles a ton of AI features, including the likes of AI portraits, AI Preload (that should make loading apps snappier), and more. You also get access to important features such as native autofill and picture-in-picture mode support, which Xiaomi had skipped in MIUI 9 but are a must-have for me.

Xiaomi has currently rolled out the stable build to the first batch of devices, so hang in there as MIUI 10 stable builds will soon be available on all compatible devices over the coming weeks. If you own a compatible device, jump into ‘Settings > About > System Update’ to check whether you’ve received the stable build or not.

Have you received the stable update on your Xiaomi device in India? If so, let us know how’s the experience been so far in the comments below.
