In Short
  • Marvel Zombies is set to release on Disney+ on September 24, 2025.
  • The trailer gave us the first look at a majority of the Avengers who have turned into zombies, along with the ones who have survived.
  • Marvel Zombies will be a mini-series consisting of 4 episodes.

When Marvel first teased Marvel Zombies back in What If…?, it felt like a fun one-off. But fast forward to today, and we’re staring at Marvel Studios Animation’s first TV-MA-rated project. The trailer makes it clear that this isn’t your usual family-friendly Disney+ binge. It’s violent, gory, and the most horror-leaning thing the MCU has put out recently. The trailer shows us a handful of survivors as they navigate a world where the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are now literal monsters, and here is a list of all the Marvel characters we see in the trailer of Marvel Zombies.

The trailer starts off with Shang-Chi and Katy holed up in what looks like a hotel under siege. They’re not alone as Yelena Belova, Kate Bishop, and Scott Lang soon appear on screen, forming the heart of this survival squad. We get to see T’Challa still fighting even after losing a leg, and Red Guardian makes an appearance, giving the group some much-needed muscle.

Then there are the more grounded faces. We see Jimmy Woo doing his best to keep up in a superhuman apocalypse, and Kamala Khan’s fangirl energy adds hope amid the chaos. Together, they form an unlikely resistance, though in true zombie fashion, you can’t help but wonder: how many of them will actually make it to the finale?

Of course, the big question here is seeing which heroes got the undead makeover. The trailer wastes no time and shows us Scarlet Witch in full horror-movie mode, looking every bit the queen of the apocalypse. Captain America and Hawkeye also join the horde.

But it doesn’t stop there. Okoye of the Dora Milaje, the Abomination, and even Namor all turn up as infected, adding serious muscle to the zombie side. And just when you think the stakes couldn’t get higher, the trailer shows us Thanos as a zombie still wielding the Infinity Gauntlet. Moreover, both Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne appear as flying Zombies, which feels almost unfair to the survivors at this point.

Beyond the main battles, the trailer hides plenty of blink-and-you-will-miss-them moments. Spider-Man shows up, webbing zombies apart in brutal fashion, ripping off their heads. At the same time, Blade has become the avatar of Konshu, or more specifically, a variant called Blade Knight.

Ghost appears as a Zombie who attacks Blade but gets herself shredded almost as soon as she appears, while Baron Zemo also meets his death. There’s even a quick clash between Thor and zombie Scarlett Witch, reminding us that gods are also a part of this nightmare. And if you freeze-frame Blade’s sword just right, you’ll spot a reflection of Khonshu, a neat little Easter egg that teases Moon Knight connections without giving too much away.

However, some Marvel characters who are confirmed to appear in the mini-series didn’t appear in the trailer. Valkyrie, Ironheart (Riri Williams), and Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers) are all slated to show up in the series but were absent from the footage, so it looks like Marvel is keeping a few surprises hidden until release day. So, let’s wait till September 24, 2025, to see what Marvel has in store for us from this brand new release.
