Marvel Rivals released its much-awaited Season 4 earlier this month and introduced a brand new Vanguard hero, Angela, to the roster. The Asgardian goddess added the much-needed power to the tanks as a flying hero who likes to dive headfirst into the battlefield.
Alongside her addition, the update also brought crucial gameplay changes to the Arcade mode, Ranked lobbies as well, and changed the team-ups yet again. However, it was the Season 4 roadmap that revealed the much-awaited second installment of the Summer Special event called Summer Special Vol. 2, which has finally arrived with today’s update. Here are the full patch notes, including some QoL changes added to Rivals.

According to NetEase, the patch drops on September 18th, 2025, at 9 AM UTC. This update will be deployed seamlessly, with no server downtime required! Simply log in after the update and jump right back into the action. Here’s what’s coming in this patch:
Summer Special Vol. 2
The highly anticipated Summer Special Vol. 2 is about to heat things up! Level up the event to unlock FREE rewards like The Thing – Rocky Tide! Upgrade to the Premium Edition for permanent access and unlock even more exclusive rewards, such as Mantis – Oceanic Harmony and Human Torch – Sunny Sizzler costumes.

- Reduced Angela’s excessively oversized head in Giant-Size Brain Blast.
Heroes
- Loki’s Mischievous Metamorphosis: Fixed a bug where, if Loki used his Ultimate Ability to transform into a costumed Adam Warlock and was KO’d and revived via Regenerative Cocoon, he’d come back wearing Adam’s default costume. No more wardrobe malfunctions in the Multiverse!
- Ultron’s Palm Pilot Precision: Tweaked the starting points for Ultron’s Encephalo-Ray and Nano-Ray attacks so they now fire perfectly from his palm. Less off-align blasts, more robotic perfection!
- Luna Snow’s Dance Upgrade: Polished the animation for Luna Snow’s Ultimate Ability. Her moves are now smooth enough to impress even Star-Lord at a Guardians dance-off. Luna’s Cool Summer Costume will be fixed next patch to nail the perfect dance dancing on the center of her Jellyfish.
Console
- Fixed rare performance drops and screen tearing on PS5.
