Summer is fast approaching in video games, and it’s about time Marvel Rivals gave fans a sunny treat with a special event of its own. A new Marvel Rivals patch is inbound on July 17, 2025, which has been announced to introduce a Summer Special event where players will stand a chance to unlock some free Swimsuit skins that were leaked in the past weeks.
Furthermore, as with every patch, this one will also address some gameplay issues that players have been facing ever since the beginning of Season 3. Not just that, a new feature for two fan-favorite heroes is also inbound that would elevate the experience of using your ult against enemies.

Marvel Rivals Version 20250717 Full Patch Notes
Marvel Rivals version 20250717 will drop on July 17, 2025, at 9 AM (UTC). According to NetEase, this update will be deployed seamlessly, with no server downtime required. Simply log in after the update and jump right back into the action.

New Summer Special Event
Battle across matches to earn XP and level up to unlock free rewards, including the new Thor-Worthy Waves costume.
Upgrade to the Summer Special Premium Edition pass for permanent access and unlock even more exclusive rewards, such as The Thing – Sunshine Thing (The Thong) and Luna Snow – Cool Summer costumes.

Fixed an issue where modifying keybinds for keyboard and controller could affect each other under certain circumstances.
Maps and Modes
- Fixed terrain issues that could cause characters to become stuck or clip through odd locations.
- Resolved various issues, including floating broken objects, collision errors, etc
Heroes
- Monster Hulk’s Smash Mishaps: We’ve put a stop to a gamma-powered glitch where Monster Hulk’s Ultimate Ability could display incorrectly if the unlucky target happened to be on a portal during the grab animation. Now, when Hulk smashes, there’s no portal-twisting madness, just pure, unfiltered Hulk mayhem!
- Magneto’s Magnetized Mix-ups: Fixed a bug where Magneto could still sometimes suffer negative effects when blocking Cloak’s Terror Cape with Metallic Curtain. Now, nothing will get through his ironclad defenses.
Hero Balance Adjustments
Wolverine
Time to temper Logan’s rage and slightly reduce his survivability.
- Increase Berserk Claw Strike Base Damage from 6 to 8. Reduce Percentage Damage per attack at maximum Rage from 4.5% to 3.5%.
- Increase Regenerative Healing Factor cooldown from 90s to 105s. Increase cooldown reduction from 10s to 12s when participating in KOs.
Team-up Ability – Primal Flame (Phoenix – Wolverine)
Our fiery mutant duo’s bond has been a little too hot to handle. So we’re cooling down Wolverine’s healing when teaming up with Phoenix.
- Reduce Lifesteal gained during Phoenix Warrior from 33% to 25%.
While these are the core changes made to Marvel Rivals, this patch will not feature a large download size as the new season patches usually do. So you’ll be all set to drop in as soon as the content is live in the game.
