Full Marvel Rivals Path to Doomsday Event Roadmap and Dates Explained
As shared by the devs during the Marvel Rivals IRL event, here’s what the upcoming Rivals x Avengers collaboration schedule looks like:
September – Avengers: Infinity War Content

- New Hero: Thanos (Unconfirmed)
- New Costumes: Infinity War-Themed Skins (Unconfirmed)
- New Game Mode: Avengers Infinity War PvP mode (Unconfirmed)
- Release Window: Mid-September
Originally, Infinity War content was planned for August. However, Age of Ultron was postponed, which has also delayed the upcoming phases. Thus, the Marvel Rivals Path to Doomsday roadmap will get into its stride in September, as we’ll be treated to Infinity War-themed content.
We’re officially in speculation territory now, folks. NetEase has revealed nothing beyond the Avengers: Age of Ultron content for the Marvel Rivals “Path to Doomsday” roadmap, which means that everything you’ll see from this point on is a calculated guess on our end.
Many fans regard the 2018 film as the greatest Marvel movie of all time, and as such, you can expect NetEase to go big with the celebrations. Will we finally see the highly requested debut of Thanos in the Chronoverse?
Only time will tell, but there really is no better time for the Mad Titan to make his arrival. In addition, we can expect a PvP or PvE mode based on the Infinity War movie and more Infinity War-themed skins for our favorite heroes.
October/November – Avengers: Endgame Content
- New Costumes: Avengers: Endgame-Themed Skins (Unconfirmed)
- New Game Mode: Avengers: Endgame PvE Mode
- Release Window: Late October or mid-November
Avengers: Endgame saw the bittersweet conclusion of the Infinity Saga, but for Marvel Rivals, this event will set the pace for Doomsday. Fans can safely look forward to Endgame-themed content in either late October or mid-November, as both Phase 2 and 3 events have been delayed.
This will likely include Iron Man’s final costume from the movie, possibly as a Marvel Rivals free skin, as they did for Ultron. It’s hard to say whether this update will introduce a new hero, but our money’s on Captain Marvel. Furthermore, NetEase can combine the Infinity War and Endgame events to offer an even more special mode to Marvel Rivals players.
December 18 – Avengers: Doomsday Content
- New Hero: Doctor Doom (Unconfirmed)
- New Times Square Hub Content (Unconfirmed)
- New Game Mode
December 18 is what the entire Marvel Rivals Avengers roadmap is building towards. To mark the release of Avengers: Doomsday in theatres, NetEase will be “fully igniting the battlefield with all-new in-game content” in the hero shooter. The roadmap’s announcement specifically emphasizes December as a major update month, so it’s safe to say that the devs will be swinging for the fences.
Just to reiterate, there’s no official word on what we can expect. But given the hype around the final leg of the Avengers collaboration, as well as the release of Doomsday, there’s a decent chance that Doctor Doom will finally join the action as a playable character.
The leaked Marvel Rivals character list also suggests that Doctor Doom will be a playable character soon in Marvel Rivals Season 11, which will release right before the Doomsday movie. Outside of this, we also expect some sort of Doomsday countdown timer to kick off in the Times Square map a few days before the update.

April – The Avengers Asymmetric PvP Mode
- New Game Mode: 6V1 PvP Mode Centered Around Loki
- New Costumes: Loki ‘Avengers 2012’ Skin
- Release Date: April 30, 2026
The Marvel Rivals Avengers, or “Path to Doomsday” event, officially kicked off in April during Season 7.5. This included a brand-new 6 vs 1 asymmetrical game mode centered around Loki, where one player uses the trickster while others pick between different heroes.
Loki is equipped with an all-new skill set, combining deception, illusions, and powerful Infinity Stone abilities to turn enemies against each other, similar to events in Marvel Studios’ The Avengers.
He can also manipulate enemy heroes in battle using mind control and summon versions of the six heroes he commands to join the battlefield to defeat other players. For assistance, the heroes can summon the Hulk to recreate the iconic Stark Tower “Puny God” scene from the first Avengers film. - New Game Mode: Avengers: Age of Ultron PvE mode
- New Costumes: Ultron ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ Skin, Scarlet Witch ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’, and Winter Soldier ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’
- Release Window: July 30, 2026
Following the success of the 6v1 Avengers PvP mode, Avengers: Age of Ultron mode, which was initially scheduled for June 2026, arrived on July 30, 2026. It was a PvE mode pitting The Avengers against Ultron and his monstrous robotic army.
Earlier, fans speculated that Vision would finally join the Marvel Rivals roster since the character made his MCU debut in Age of Ultron. However, that didn’t happen. During the Phase 2 event, Scarlet Witch, Winter Soldier, and Ultron received ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ edition skins in the game.
