Mark Grayson aka Invincible Powers and Weaknesses

In Short
  • Mark aka Invincible has all the powers similar to Omni-Man.
  • He has super strength, flight, and agility, and is almost indestructible.
  • Even though Mark does not have any weaknesses the one he has is self-doubt and the fear that if he does not hold back he will become like his father.

Amazon Prime has a massive catalog of shows and when it comes to superhero content not rooted in Marvel or DC, this platform takes the win. Invincible is one such show and after its release in 2021 became one of the most famous animated shows ever. In 2025, Invincible is set to release season 3 and we can’t wait for it. So, if you just got into Invincible and want to learn about Mark’s powers, find all your answers here!

What Superpowers Does Invincible Have?

Mark or Invincible does not have a massive set of powers but the ones he has proved to be enough for him…most of the time. Invincible has super strength, speed, agility, and flight. On top of that, he’s Invincible to most attacks.

Unlike his father, Invincible or Mark is half human which diminishes his powers to an extent that makes him susceptible to being killed. In the first two seasons of Invincible, Mark has almost been killed more than twice. So, let’s hope that he lives up to his name which seems more probable with what we get to see in the new trailer of Invincible Season 3.

Does Invincible Have a Weakness?

Physically, Mark is the strongest being on the planet after Omni-Man, but he holds back his potential for fear, that he might turn out to be like his father. This is why he went into such a massive dilemma after he killed Angstrom Levy. Thus, one can say that self-doubt is one of the biggest weaknesses of Invincible.

Additionally, since Mark is part Viltrumite, he is prone to certain weaknesses that all Viltrumites are weak against.

1. High Frequency Sounds

In all the seasons we have seen for Invincible, we have seen that Omni-Man or other Viltrumites are weak to almost nothing except their kind. However, in Invincible Season 2, we see that when Mark is fighting that huge monster in Atlantis, the high-frequency shrieking sound created by it hurts Invincible. This was the first time we got a hint of weakness in a Viltrumite. Not just Invincible but all other Viltrumites are also vulnerable to high frequency sounds.

2. Space Racer’s Invincible Gun

This element was a hint left in the sci-fi books written by Nolan but as it turns out, these books were not at all fiction. In one of the books, Nolan mentioned that an alien named Space Racer has a weapon called Invincible Gun that fires an infinity ray strong enough to kill Viltrumites. Since Invincible himself is a Viltrumite, he can most definitely be killed by this weapon.

3. Rognarr Aliens

In the book “Savage Planet Savage Beasts” written by Nolan, he wrote about a planet with a massive field of gravity where he and his partner were sent to conduct a survey. However, they were not alone there and were soon encountered by Rognarrs. These creatures are probably the only ones who are stronger than Viltrumites. Their strength comes from the massive field of gravity their planet has and hence, they are as much a threat to Invincible as they are to any other Viltrumite.

4. The Klaxus Plant

One of the weaknesses of Viltrumites mentioned in Invincible Comics is the Klaxus Plant. This is a rare plant whose poison if comes in contact with a Viltrumite, drains their powers temporarily making them almost as weak as a regular human. Now, since Mark is half Viltrumite this can prove to be a weakness for him as well. However, since he is a hybrid, there is also a possibility that he might be immune to it.

Where Does Mark’s Powers Come From?

Mark’s powers come from his Viltrumite lineage. He got his powers from his father Omni-Man’s DNA and as he grew up, he started becoming as strong and agile as him. Overall, Mark has all the powers his father has but not to the same extent as Omni-Man. The problem with Mark is that he is only half Viltrumite. His human half restricts him from being as strong as Viltrumite could be.

However, in Mark’s case, all the training Cecil will put him through in season 3 will make him much stronger so let’s wait and see what happens. Till then stay tuned with us for further updates!
