After Blackbeard, Loki is the only character to receive two Devil Fruit powers in One Piece. Although he couldn’t possess both powers on his own like the madman, Oda bestowed the prince with a hammer equipped with a Devil Fruit power. Loki’s Hammer, Ragnir’s Devil Fruit, has been sorted out, but we have been kept in the dark about Loki’s own Devil Fruit for a long time now. After teasing us with silhouettes of the prince’s Devil Fruit power, Oda has finally unveiled Loki’s Devil Fruit transformation, a giant black dragon.

Loki Transforms Into a Colossal Dragon in One Piece Chapter 1174

At the end of Loki’s flashback, his father, King Harald, asked him to consume the legendary devil fruit passed down by Elbaf’s royal family. It was the only power that could put an end to the monster Harald had become after pledging his loyalty to Imu through their abyss contract. Loki followed his father’s words, proved his worth to the Ragnir, and ate the fruit. Then he had a beastly transformation and severely damaged his father before delivering the final blow with his hammer, Ragnir.

Since that reveal, we have been busy figuring out whether it’s a dragon or a wolf-based transformation. Oda has taken his sweet time, and now, after four chapters, the author has confirmed that the legendary Elbaf Devil Fruit that Loki ate is indeed a dragon power-up, as Loki transformed into the largest dragon we have ever seen in One Piece chapter 1174.

We aren’t certain, but it seems the Nidhoggr dragon from Norse mythology served as the inspiration for Loki’s dragon form. But one thing we know for sure is that the dragon we saw in the Harley Mural is Loki’s black dragon form. This must be why Rocks D. Xebec wanted Harald to eat this Devil Fruit power and stand together with him when taking on the World Government.

The size of Loki’s dragon form is so gigantic that the giants he saved from the fall look like minuscule humans in comparison. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get to see the powers of Loki’s dragon form, as the chapter ended with the dragon’s reveal.

Nevertheless, as Loki covered the sky in his dragon form, the ground rumbled, followed by lightning and thunder striking. What’s even crazier is that Luffy, in Gear 5 form, was sitting atop the dragon’s head. As the prophecy reads, Nika and the beast duo have appeared, and let’s wait and see if Loki’s dragon form has typical dragon powers, such as breathing fire, or if there is something else special in store for him.

Loki has entered the list of the strongest One Piece characters of all time in such a short period, and his arsenal hasn’t been completely revealed yet. Loki’s dragon form will be the key to driving Imu out of Elbaf. So, let’s stay patient and watch how things unfold in the upcoming chapters.

Until then, what do you think about Loki’s new dragon form? And let us know your predictions for the dragon powers in the comments below.
