Leaked Document Shows iPhone SE May Launch Between June 15-18

Several leaks from multiple sources over the past few months have suggested that Apple will launch a low-price iPhone this year as a successor to its first-gen iPhone SE, which was launched in 2016. A new leak from French advertising company, JCDecaux, now seemingly suggests that the device may be launched as early as this month itself. According to the leaked document, British carrier EE is planning to make the phone available to its customers between the 15th and 18th of this month.

Posted on Twitter by designer Ben Geskin (@VenyaGeskin1), the document seems to suggest that the carrier is already working on how to price its contracts for the upcoming ‘budget’ iPhone. Apparently, the carrier is planning to offer a AirPower Mat with the device, which is as good a hint as any that it will come with wireless charging.

The document also seems to show that the carrier is planning to offer unlimited calls and texts with 18GB of 4G data to its subscribers for £34.99 per month for its customers who buy the phone on a long-term contract. It is worth noting, though, that we cannot independently verify this latest leak at this moment, so do take it with a grain of salt if you will.

While multiple leaks over the past several weeks – many from relatively reliable sources – have almost made it certain that an iPhone SE 2 is definitely in the works, it will be interesting to see what it has to offer in terms of hardware. While earlier rumors had suggested that the device will ship with a smaller, 4-inch form-factor, recent reports have hinted that it may actually come with a bigger screen.

Either way, the iPhone SE 2 is heavily rumored to feature the same hardware-based Face ID technology that was debuted on the iPhone X last year. It is also said to follow the same design language as the current Apple flagship, which means, it will also have a notch to house that Face ID hardware.
