Chapter 4 of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is one of the most intriguing chapters of the series so far. On the one hand, Tsurugi and Yuka are assigned to work with Maru so that they can maintain a good relationship with the aliens. At the same time, the brother-sister duo is tasked to learn more about the aliens through Maru, who, by the way, is confirmed to be nineteen years old according to Earth years.

Anyways, Tsurugi, Yuka, and Maru go on to investigate a case of a first-grade student in the Elementary school. Apparently, this student has been repeating the same class after taking different identities. The address and the overall appearance of the kid remain the same, but the name is different. Also, the student and his family disappear after the kid moves to a higher grade. This suggests that this kid, Masayoshi or Masaki, is somehow associated with a curse user.

Anyways, Maru and Tsurugi confront this kid, and they come across a cursed spirit who is attached to Masaki. At this point, we learn that the mother of Masaki died three years ago, and all the grief and loneliness didn’t let his mother’s spirit leave. In a sense, Masaki’s case is somewhat similar to Yuta and Rika.

Maru and Tsurugi also learn that this kid had to bury his own mother in the backyard of his home. Maru consoles the kid and asks him to make some friends, especially when he is under the care of the Jujutsu society. But guess what? There’s more to this story, as Yuka, during her investigation, finds not one but five bodies buried in the backyard of Masaki’s house. At the same time, Masaki attacks Maru while also revealing his monstrous form.

Of course, there’s more to Msaki’s story, but we have to wait until further chapters to learn more about him.
