Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is a roll, and each chapter of the series has been surprising fans with unique turns of events. For instance, in the latest chapter, we see Yuji visiting one of his biggest enemies. That’s right, we are indeed talking about Mahito, who’s the very definition of evil. Of course, Mahito first made an appearance in Chapter 7 of JJK Modulo, but in Chapter 21, we saw Yuji meeting up with this monster. This makes several fans wonder, is Mahito really alive in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo? Well, here’s the answer.
Mahito Is Waiting For Yuji in The Pathway of The Spirits in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo
In Chapter 7 of JJK Modulo, Tsurugi sees Mahito briefly when he has a near-death experience. In that brief moment, Tsurugi touches the barrier between life and death, the place we call the Pathway of Spirits. At the time, it wasn’t clear how exactly Mahito was in the Pathway of Spirits, but Chapter 21 gives us a much better explanation.
Apparently, Mahito is still stuck in the Pathway of Spirits. In fact, he has become a resident of the place, and Mahito deliberately didn’t cross the Pathway. Apparently, every soul must cross the Pathway of Spirits to reincarnate. However, Mahito is obsessed with Yuji, so he has been waiting for Yuji for all these years. Basically, he is waiting for Yuji to die, so he can cross the Pathway of Spirits together and reincarnate into the world at the same time.
In the latest chapter, Maru uses a technique to find suitable candidates to serve as witnesses to a new world of harmony. Of course, one of these guys is Yuji, and then, Maru reveals that the other guy is none other than Mahito.
Maru explains that Mahito is a resident of the Pathway of Spirits. As soon as Mahito sees Yuji, he thinks that Yuji has finally died, and now, he can finally cross the Pathway of Souls with him. But that isn’t the case; Yuji is still alive, and it was Maru’s technique that summoned him here. Mahito, on the other hand, is still very dead. Sure, we see him talking to Yuji and Maru, so technically the evil character is back in the series, but he isn’t alive. Now, unless Maru thinks of a way to revive Mahito, he’ll stay dead. However, it’s hard to say if Mahito needs to be revived to serve Maru’s purpose with Yuji.
