To know if the upcoming series is Canon, you should first know what it is about. Well, the studio hasn’t revealed much about the story, but we know that due to some magic, Goku and his friends will turn into children. Now, to be adults again, they need to travel to a new world. The series will feature several new characters and some powerful enemies.

Is Dragon Ball Daima Canon?

The story of Daima is so unique that it makes fans wonder if it’s at all canon to Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball universe. Well, the answer is yes, Dragon Ball Daima is canon. Toriyama worked on Daima, and it was the last project he worked on before his death. The legendary author himself announced Dragon Ball Daima to the world and confirmed that it is indeed canon.

In his announcement, the author stated, “Things will unfold that close in on the mysteries of the Dragon Ball world. Hope you all enjoy these cute and powerful, different-from-usual battles!!”

It basically means that the events that will unfold in the upcoming series are set in the Dragon Ball universe with which we are all familiar. The series will surely reveal or introduce some new characters, including new bad guys.

Since the series is canon, we might see the new characters from Daima appearing in Dragon Ball Super Part 2 whenever it arrives.

For now, the studio is focusing on a single DB project (that’s what we know), which is Dragon Ball Daima. The series will run for 20 episodes, and that’s the first season. We still don’t know if Daima is supposed to be a single-season project or if it will continue with more seasons. Regardless of the number of seasons, it will give Toei enough mileage to take as long as it wants to start working on Dragon Ball Super Part 2.
