In Season 2, Mark Grayson or Invincible, found out that he has a brother named Oliver who is half Thraxan and half Viltrumite. Even though Mark had difficulty accepting the kid, he eventually brought it back to Earth and Oliver was adopted by Debbie as her own. In Invincible Season 3, we see that Oliver has grown up and now has powers as well. It is revealed later on, that Oliver has a dark side to him as well which is very similar to Omni-Man which is troublesome for Mark and Debbie. It looks like these qualities might lead to his doom but did Oliver ever die in Invincible comics and if he does, how? Let’s find out!
How Did Oliver Die in Invincible?
If we look at the comic run of Invincible, Oliver has always been more like his dad in his way of thought. This is evident from when he killed the Mauler Twins and felt no remorse at all. He even went to the point of saying that Omni-Man was right when he planned on taking over Earth, stating that humans are nothing compared to him.
In the comic book Invincible, Oliver grows up to be just as powerful as Mark, and even though he is unhinged, he never turns out to be a villain. However, his arrogance regarding his supremacy over humans remains within him, and he is even ready to deploy the Scourge Virus on Earth to exterminate the Viltrumites, but it would cost millions of human lives as well.
Throughout Invincible’s comic run, Oliver has never fully understood the concept of a greater good, but eventually, he does. In Invincible Comics, Oliver is killed by Thragg when he defies working with him and decides to save the lives of Mark, Atom Eve, and Terra instead of letting them die. Later on, his body was brought back to Earth where he received a proper funeral.
Looking at how Invincible Season 3 is progressing, it is safe to say that at some point, we might get to see Oliver die at the hands of Thragg but since he is just a child now and his death takes place when he is an adult, there is a possibility that we will get to see his death in Invincible Season 4. So, let’s wait and see what happens, and till then, stay tuned with us for more updates!
