Following up Season 6’s Deadpool was always going to be a hard act for the devs, but somehow, they’ve managed to deliver an equally exciting character. Marvel Rivals’ Elsa Bloodstone is a sharp Duelist who combines her arsenal with creature-assisted abilities to lock down enemies.

Her base attacks see her switch between the long-ranged Elephant Gun and the close-ranged Breathing Gun. The former has piercing damage and can chew through multiple health bars, while the latter is a devastating shotgun best used in close proximity. As you rack up the damage using Elsa, her Hunting Instincts sharpen. Keep the momentum going to reduce the cooldown of Helix Advance – her movement ability that grants pierce damage to the shotgun on activation.

Guns alone aren’t enough to dominate the chronoverse, which is why Elsa can introduce her monster buddies to the battlefield. The first of these is Diablo, an annoying menace who turns invisible and traps enemies that come within its range. Once trapped, the opponent is immobilized while Diablo chips away at their health. Moreover, you can quickly dash to the creature’s location to pile on the damage.

The second monster-based ability is the character’s Ultimate. When activated, she summons Glartrox, a vertiable bulldozer of a creature. It instantly charges forward and takes enemies present in its path by force. Depending on where you trigger the Ult, Glartrox can even push out of the map’s boundaries. You can recall the creature at any time, prompting it to charge back in your direction, ideally with an enemy trapped within its jaw.

With that basic overview out of the way, here’s a look at Elsa Bloodstone’s kit and abilities:

Ruthless PursuitEDash forward, gaining Bonus Health and launching enemies hit. Follow up with a Double-Barrel Blaster shot that propels you backward and Slows enemies. Using either stage empowers your next Double-Barrel Blaster, transforming it into Monster-Piercer
Smoky SnareFLaunch a trap containing the monster Diablo. Once deployed, it becomes Invisible and Invulnerable. When an enemy triggers it, Diablo Immobilizes and Damages them. Use to dash to the trapped enemy. Enemies can destroy Diablo to break free
Living BulletRight Click (Secondary Attack)Fire a Living Bullet round that splits upon impact, seeking nearby enemies and marking each with a Spectral Sigil. Hitting marked targets with Double-Barrel Blaster or Monster-Piercer grants Elsa a brief Speed boost. Living Bullets deal extra damage to shields and enemies with Bonus Health

How to Play Elsa Bloodstone in Marvel Rivals: Best Meta Gameplay Explained

  • Marvel Rivals Elsa Bloodstone Blaster Fire
  • Marvel Rivals Elsa Bloodstone Elephant Gun Fire
  • Marvel Rivals Elsa Bloodstone Launch
  • Marvel Rivals Elsa Bloodstone Ult

Just like the best Duelists in Marvel Rivals, Elsa Bloodstone’s kit seems straightforward enough at first glance. You’ve got two weapons to switch between, each meant for different ranges à la Punisher. Decent mobility that lets her drop in and out of combat. A passive that emphasizes aggressive DPS gameplay. And a quick launcher that can toss an enemy up in the air, disrupting formations and making them completely vulnerable for a few seconds.

If we’re drawing comparisons, her kit is reminiscent of Overwatch’s Ashe, barring the monster twist, of course. These creatures bring a dose of utility in the package, and primarily trap opponents to let Elsa and her teammates fire away at them. Her Ultimate is especially great for this purpose, as it quite literally lets Glartrox manhandle any enemy that gets in its way.

With all that being said, the key to mastering Elsa Bloodstone in Marvel Rivals is to nail down her positioning. Being a Duelist, the character is quite squishy and will get eviscerated by the likes of Deadpool, Psylocke, Wolverine, and many others in 1v1 combat. This makes learning when to engage and how to initiate an absolute must.

Both those elements are actually tied together by her dash, which adds pierce damage to her Double-Barrel Blaster shot. Ideally, your combos should chain this ability with shots using both weapons as well as the ‘E’ launcher. These chains also need to be executed at a rapid pace to fuel her Hunter’s Instinct passive, which in turn lowers the cooldown for the dash, and sets you up for a vicious cycle of riddling enemies with bullet holes. In fact, one such combo can even dish out 700 HP, and we’ve listed the exact key prompts below.

Now that you have a general idea of Elsa Bloodstone’s role, here are gameplay tips to help you excel with the character:

  • 700 HP Combo: Left Click > E > Left Click (Switch Weapon) > Left Click (Switch Weapon again) > F > Left Click (Double-Barrel Blaster) – this is the devastating combo we eluded to earlier. It’ll take a while to nail down at speed, but this attack chain can be your bread-and-butter for most engagements.
  • Keep Bursting to Sharpen Hunter’s Instinct: Located just below her health bar is Bloodstone’s Hunter’s Instinct. Focus on filling these bars up by constantly alternating between weapons and letting off bursts. An elimination immediately fills one out of three bars, so try to get as many final hits as possible.
  • Use Diablo to Disrupt Enemies: The Smoky Snare ability sees the Duelist unleash a monster named Diablo, which can trap enemies in place. Use it strategically to disrupt enemy frontlines and rushing attacks. Once an enemy is caught, waste no time in dashing towards them since the trap can be destroyed.
  • Use Ult to Lockdown Individual Opponents: Upon activation, Elsa’s Ultimate lets Glartrox free on the battlefield. The monster can grab and carry any opponent in its path, momentarily taking them out of the action. Naturally, it’s best used to lock down an enemy that’s being a real nuisance. Since you can also command Glartrox to charge back in your direction, you can fall back and basically isolate his prey for a quick elimination.

Best Counters for Elsa Bloodstone in Marvel Rivals

Countering Elsa Bloodstone in Marvel Rivals is frankly quite easy. The character packs some serious DPS potential, but ultimately, she’s pretty squishy, has no self-sustain, and struggles in close-range duels against melee brawlers. On that note, here are the best counters for the Duelist:

CharacterCounter
BladeBlade’s combos will eviscerate Elsa at close range. Her lack of self-sustain also shows here, making this a really unfavorable match-up.
DeadpoolDeadpool can slice and dice through bloated tanks with ease, which makes Bloodstone’s small health bar easy work.
HawkeyeWith long-range burst damage and a stun trap, the marksman can catch Elsa off guard and overpower her.
Spider-ManElsa requires enemies to be grounded for her most effective attack chains. Unfortunately, Spidey has tendency to swing around frantically, meaning the Duelist will always struggle to catch him.
