The new iOS 18.2 update brings some major changes to the Mail app with Categorization and Priority Messages features. Also, when you receive emails from your friends, family, or verified businesses, the Mail app will now show Contact photos and company logos next to them. While it’s a welcome addition, some people may not find it useful. If you also don’t like seeing those icons, you can disable contact photos in the Mail app. Keep reading to know the details.
Hide Contact Photos or Business Logos in the Mail App on iPhone
Apple has added Contact Photos in the Mail app to make it easier for you to identify senders of incoming emails. However, some contacts on your mailing list may not have associated photos, and Apple might occasionally fail to recognize certain businesses. These inconsistencies can make your inbox appear cluttered. Fortunately, you can easily disable Contact Photos in the Mail app. Here’s what you need to do:
- On your iPhone, open the Settings app and scroll down to the bottom.
- Here, tap on Apps.
- Now, scroll down the list of available apps or find Mail using the search bar on the top.
- Under the Message List section, turn off the Show Contact Photos toggle and you’re sorted.
That’s all it takes to disable Contact Photos in the Mail app on iOS 18.2. If you ever wish to see those little pictures in the Mail app, you can follow the same steps and turn the toggle back on.
