Gen V Season 2 is finally on air, and with its premiere, fans truly hope to see what this new season is going to do about Andre Anderson’s absence. Now, I’m pretty sure creators of Gen V were fully aware that this needed to be addressed as soon as possible, which is why they brought us clarity about what happened to Andre in the first episode itself. So, without further ado, let’s take a look at how Andre Anderson died in Gen V and how Chance Perdomo’s absence has been written off in Season 2.
How Did Andre Anderson Die in Gen V?
Since the news of Chance Perdomo’s tragic death came to light, fans have speculated that his character would eventually be killed off by Gen V. In Episode 1 of Gen V Season 2, this speculation turned out to be true, and it is revealed that Andre Anderson died from brain damage while trying to use his powers to the limit to escape from Elmira, along with Jordan and Emma in Gen V.
According to the story brought to us by the show, Marie somehow managed to escape from Elmira and left the other behind. Andre wanted to get everyone out of there, and when he saw exposed metal pipes, he thought he could use them to help everyone break out. However, those pipes were sealed off in concrete while Andre, Jordan, and Emma were trying to escape.
In a desperate attempt, Andre tried to move a massive steel door, but couldn’t. Since he has the same medical issue as his father, Neural Micro-Tears, which damages his brain every time he uses his powers, the overexertion of his magnetic abilities sent him into a stroke, which eventually killed Andre.
Andre, similar to his father Polarity, was susceptible to a brain stroke if he used his powers to limit. However, he did not care for himself and sacrificed himself to save Emma and Jordan.
This backstory, where he is portrayed as a hero, is a perfect tribute to the late actor and also keeps the flow of Gen V Season 2’s story intact.
