Pela has a very simple and easy-to-use kit in Honkai Star Rail, with massive Defense reduction capabilities with a good up-time. Her Ultimate is the most important part of her kit, as it does AoE Defense reduction by 40%, with a 100% base chance. This ability also counts as applying a debuff, enabling Debuff-centric characters and relic sets.

Pela’s skill can remove 1 buff from an enemy, and reduce Ice resistance by 12% with her E4, which is very useful against enemies that buff themselves. Other than that, her Technique can further reduce all enemy defenses by 20% at the start of the battle for 2 turns, which makes a very strong ability.

For Pela’s rotation, try to use her Ultimate every 2 turn cycle, in order to keep the Exposed debuff on the enemy targets. Other than that, keep using her Normal attacks to hit debuffed enemies and Toughness Break enemies with Ice weaknesses. Use her Skill on Buffed enemies if you have her E2 to increase her Speed. If you have her E4, make sure to use her Skill every two-turn cycle on the strongest enemy to inflict the 12% Ice Resistance debuff.

Other than that, 2-piece Penacony, Land of Dreams is also a good option for teams with the same Damage type characters, particularly Jingliu teams.

Speed is the most important stat for Pela, as it will dictate the number of turns she can take, increasing her Energy recharge speed. Use an HP% or Defense % body to make it easier to tank hits, Speed Boots, HP or Defense % Sphere, and Energy Regeneration Rate Rope for Pela.

When it comes to her sub-stats, prioritize Speed and try to reach the 160 speed breakpoint, if possible. Next, prioritize reaching 30% Effect Resistance to get the full benefit of the Broken Keel set. After that, try to get at least a 57% Effect Hit Rate, including Pela’s Ascension Traits. Finally, add HP% or Defense% to keep Pela alive against bad RNG.

  • Before the Tutorial Mission Starts
  • Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat
  • We Will Meet Again
  • Boundless Choreo

Before the Tutorial Mission Starts is the best Light Cone for Pela, as it regenerates 4 energy for the wearer when they hit Defense-reduced enemies, and additionally increases the Effect Hit Rate by 20%.

The Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat Light Cone is a close second for Pela, giving the wearer a 60% chance to ensnare enemies after hitting them, reducing their Defense by another 12% for 1 turn. The We Will Meet Again and Boundless Choreo are good options for Sub-DPS Pela builds, but their use is inferior compared to Pela’s best build.

Pela has very strong Eidolons for her kit, making it completely worth it to get her E4 for her best build. Her E1 regenerates her energy every time an enemy is defeated, which vastly increases her Energy Regeneration. Her E2 increases her speed after removing a buff from an enemy using her Skill, which gives her more attacks and effectively allows her to recharge her Ultimate quicker.

Pela’s E4 ability is extremely strong for Ice DPS units, like Jingliu, as it reduces Ice Resistance of the enemy by 12% when getting hit by her Skill. Overall, it is completely worth it to get Pela’s Eidolons in Honkai Star Rail.

Pela can effectively pair with any DPS unit in the game seamlessly without conflicting with their play style. However, she is best in Jingliu Hypercarry teams, especially if you have her E4. Other than that, Acheron Hypercarry teams and DoT Kafka teams can also do a ton of damage with Pela’s kit.

She also enables Dr. Ratio as her Defense-reducing abilities are counted as debuffs. Blade teams can also seamlessly work with Pela, as she reduces enemy defenses instead of increasing the Attack of allies like many other Harmony units. Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae Hypercarry teams can also benefit from Pela as she is very Skill Point positive.
