Honkai Star Rail 3.7 will be the final chapter of the Amphoreus saga. The update is expected to be a major addition to the game, and recent leaks reaffirm that thought. Other than the main story, Honkai Star Rail 3.7 has leaked to be adding another new game mode to the fray. The mode is called Currency Wars, and it breaks the mold of the traditional team-building setup of Honkai Star Rail. Excited? Here is everything we currently know about it.
What are Currency Wars in Honkai Star Rail?
Currency Wars is the newly leaked game mode for Honkai Star Rail. This new game mode will be released in HSR 3.7 and is expected to become a permanent addition, like Pure Fiction. Unlike Anomaly Arbitration, Currency Wars will be an independent game mode with a completely new playstyle. The following section goes into the details about this new game mode.
HSR Currency Wars Gameplay Details Leaked
Team Setup
Unlike the traditional team composition of HSR, Currency Wars requires 8 to 10 characters to work. The team composition is divided into front and back rows. The front row fits four team members, while the back row fits 6. The frontline is going to be your main combat team, while the backrow can automatically cast attacks and skills to support allies.
The allies in the front row will also be the ones with unique exclusive skills, based on their placement and synergy with the other characters.
Character Progression and Recruitment
Honkai Star Rail players can use their owned characters or use trial characters to create teams in Currency Wars. Each character will have a progression system tied to them. Other than that, three characters of the same star level can fuse into a higher star unit, with stronger combat power.
Characters owned by players will retain this progression, while trial characters will lose it. Those characters that are below the required progression are automatically strengthened and marked with a mapping tag.
Now, characters can be purchased with coins, with a higher cost meaning stronger base strength. Players can obtain coins by winning fights. The game mode also has a separate equipment system that increases the strength of the characters.
Combat Details
Now, the combat is pretty straightforward. Players have to defeat all enemies before the timer runs out. If the timer ends or the health reaches zero, the players will be defeated.
Synnergy plays a major role in combat. Characters from the same faction can enable unique abilities or buffs. Simply form up your synergized team and mow through enemies to earn rewards.
Animation Changes
The leaks also reveal that many of the older characters are receiving animation changes for their Ultimate abilities. The known characters receiving the change are Geopard, Yanqing, and Fu Xuan, but there may be more.
Other than that, some of the old bosses are also receiving slight animation changes. One of the known changes is to SAM’s (boss version) ultimate ability.
HSR Currency Wars Rewards Leaked
The new gameplay mode also means more rewards. Currency Wars features a point system that increases with each win. These points can be exchanged for Stellar Jades and other rewards. Other than that, the game mode will also come with a Weekly Rewards system, an independent shop, and currency. The new currency is named Equi-Coin and will likely be used in the new shop.
Other than that, the game features a ranking system. Players will reach higher ranks as they continue to win, which gives further rewards.
