This ominous character has already made their presence in the story felt, murdering multiple people without a moment’s thought. So, who is the Herald of Death in Honkai Star Rail? Here is everything we know about this ominous figure.
Honkai Star Rail Herald of Death Explained
Honkai Star Rail Planarcadia has an event every 15 years or more, called Phantasmoon Games. The Herald of Death first appeared in the Phantasmoon Games fifteen years ago. In that game, the Herald of Death went on an unprecedented killing spree, even killing over 25 students in the Graphia Academy. It had brutally murdered many citizens, leaving bloody handprints at each crime scene.
According to Pearl, this person was eventually caught and killed almost six years ago. However, the Herald of Death seems to have returned in the current Phantasmoon Games, and it has already murdered the entire Synwish Syndicate. But the same person cannot join multiple Phantasmoon Games in Honkai Star Rail, so whether this Herald of Death is the same person or not is yet unclear.
Now, when it comes to the real identity of this mystery killer, we still have to wait for the upcoming episodes to learn more. There is a big chance that the Herald of Death will become the main antagonist of the Honkai Star Rail Planarcadia arc.
Himeko’s Connection to the Herald of Death
Himeko appears to have a connection with the Herald of Death in Honkai Star Rail. She participated in the last Phantasmoon Games in Planarcadia and was a witness to the death and chaos caused by the murderer. We also see ghosts of past students appear in the Graphia Academy, where they recognize Himeko and call her their senior.
Interestingly, Himeko’s father appears suddenly and mentions that he is now the dean of Graphia Academy. He further mentions that his daughter died in the bloodstained games 15 years ago, implying that the Himeko we know is not real.
