What Are Keepsakes in Hades 2
To keep it very simple, Keepsake in Hades 2 are trinkets you can collect from the various gods and NPCs. Each Keepsake comes with a unique property that helps improve Melinoe’s performance. Some will give you death defiance, which prevents you from death. Others will give you more money to start a run for that early boost.
When you enter the training room before leaving for your adventure, you can equip only one keepsake from the chest. To receive a Keepsake, hand over a sweet nectar as a gift to any NPC or Gods you encounter. Doing so will reward you with a trinket, which you can use later in your run.
How to Get Keepsakes in Hades 2
The process of getting Keepsake is very simple. Whenever you encounter a character or a god in-game, press the corresponding button prompt to gift them. When you do that, the gift screen opens up. If you have Nectar in your possession, which you sometimes use as a room reward, or purchase one from Charon, you will gift that to the NPC.
As a result, you’ll get a Keepsake if it is the first time you are gifting them. Remember, you can only get one Keepsake per character for the first time. Gifting them after that improves your bond with the character. So, if you have Nectar in your possession, use them!
How to Level up Keepsakes in Hades 2
The only way to level up your Keepsake in Hades 2 is by continuously wearing them throughout your various runs. The more you use it, and clear encounters, the better the Keepsake gets, and its powers also improve. While tracking the exact number of encounters for a Keepsake to level up is hard, what is confirmed is that you have to clear rooms to level up your Keepsake.
So, if you use one and die prematurely, you won’t get any leveling points. So, try to stay alive using the Keepsake and clear as many rooms and encounters as possible.

Currently, Hades 2 only allows you to equip one keepsake per run. However, after you unlock an upgrade, you can replace a keepsake after defeating each area boss.
