GTA 6 Gameplay Trailer Release Date Speculation

Rockstar Games has not yet announced a date for the GTA 6 gameplay reveal trailer. Since Take-Two is holding an investor call on August 7, 2026, GTA 6’s pre-order sales numbers are expected to be revealed that day, along with the GTA 6 gameplay trailer.

For the first time in history, Take-Two is sharing quarterly financial reports before the market opens, so there is hope that players might finally get a glimpse of GTA 6’s gameplay very soon. Earlier, the popular GTA YouTuber DarkViperAU suggested that Rockstar could skip GTA 6 Trailer 3 altogether and instead release a 20-minute GTA 6 Gameplay reveal. Now, this prediction seems the most likely outcome, given how close GTA 6 is to launch.

However, historically, Rockstar Games has always released six videos: three cinematic trailers, two gameplay trailers, and a final launch trailer before each of its recent game releases. So far, GTA 6 has received only two trailers: the first was released on December 5, 2023, and the second on May 6, 2025.

So, if Rockstar decides to release a third trailer, it is expected to arrive on July 21, 2026, as Rockstar is sticking to its GTA 6 summer marketing plans. Thus, it’s safe to say that we can expect the gameplay trailer to debut in August after GTA 6 Trailer 3 releases in late July.

If that doesn’t happen, then we can expect the GTA 6 gameplay trailer to be released in early September 2026. This predicted release window is based on Rockstar’s marketing pattern. The official gameplay video of Red Dead Redemption 2 was released on August 9, 2018, ahead of the game’s official launch on October 26, 2018. Similarly, the gameplay video of GTA 5 was released on July 9, 2013, before the game arrived on September 17, 2013.

As you might know, both GTA 5 and RDR2 received their first gameplay trailers roughly 70-80 days before their respective game launches. Since GTA 6 won’t be delayed again and is scheduled for a November 19 release, the first gameplay trailer is likely to arrive in September. Then Rockstar can release a second gameplay reveal in October, which would make sense before the launch trailer surfaces online in November.

The most ideal time for Rockstar to reveal GTA 6 gameplay would have been right before the pre-orders started. But the GTA developer only revealed the official GTA 6 cover art and dozens of new screenshots before kicking off the pre-orders. What to Expect From GTA 6 Gameplay Trailer?

Since GTA 6 Trailer 3 will be yet another cinematic trailer focusing on Jason and Lucia‘s story, players can look forward to an in-depth look at the game mechanics in the first gameplay trailer. The GTA 6 gameplay trailer can be 5-6 minutes long, matching the length of the GTA 5 and RDR2 gameplay videos. The world, setting, and characters of GTA 6 have already been established in the previous trailers, so it’s about time players get to see how the evolved combat system, traversal, and customization work.
