- During a recent interview, Johnny Ray Gill mentioned his involvement in GTA 6.
- The actor previously voiced characters in GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2.
- The project timeline mentioned aligns with GTA 6's expected 2025 release window.
Another piece of the Grand Theft Auto 6 puzzle might have just fallen into place. Actor Johnny Ray Gill, who you might recognize from Amazon’s crime series Cross, has dropped some interesting hints about his potential involvement in the next GTA game. During a chat with the YouTube channel Check It TV, Gill couldn’t help but smile while talking about an upcoming project with Rockstar Games.
Previous Rockstar Connection
This wouldn’t be Gill’s first rodeo with Rockstar Games. The 40-year-old actor has already lent his voice to both Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, where he played various pedestrian characters.
During the December 13 interview, Gill spoke about his past work with Rockstar, calling it a “dope” experience. But what really caught everyone’s attention was what he said next. With a knowing wink to the camera, he mentioned “another situation happening” in the GTA world, set to come out in “2025-2026.”
GTA 6 Growing Cast
Gill isn’t the only actor possibly joining the GTA 6 roster. Fans have been piecing together clues about the game’s cast since the reveal trailer dropped in December 2023. Manni Perez is thought to be the voice behind Lucia, the game’s protagonist.
Another name in the mix is Gregory Connors. His online resume, which has since been taken down, mentioned he was working on a lead role in an unnamed Rockstar game planned for 2025. Given the timing and circumstances, many believe this project is GTA 6.
Release Window Speculation
While Gill mentioned both 2025 and 2026 in his interview, this shouldn’t set off any alarm bells about potential delays. Voice actors typically aren’t in the loop about release schedule changes. Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar’s parent company, has actually narrowed down the release window to fall 2025.
It’s been pretty quiet on the GTA 6 front since the reveal trailer dropped in December 2023. That first look at the game got everyone talking, but Rockstar has kept additional footage under wraps. The game is still officially targeting a 2025 release, though, as with any major game development, plans can always change.
What makes Gill’s potential involvement particularly interesting is his history with Rockstar Games. Having already worked on two of their biggest titles, he understands the company’s approach to game development and voice acting. This experience could prove valuable in bringing the world of GTA 6 to life, especially given the series’ reputation for colorful characters and memorable performances.
