Is Lauma Worth Pulling? Pros and Cons

Lauma is arguably the best Dendro support unit after Nahida’s release in Genshin Impact. She is extremely useful for Bloom teams, almost single-handedly doubling the damage output. She applies Dendro on enemies very quickly from off-field, making it really easy to trigger consistent reactions.

But that’s only scratching the surface as Lauma also passively increases every Bloom reaction’s damage for her entire team. Furthermore, she enables Lunar-Bloom, a new reaction introduced in Nod-krai, which allows Bloom reactions to Crit.

ProsCons
Enables Lunar-Bloom ReactionsRequires high skill to play
Extremely good Dendro applierBurst doesn’t deal damage
Greatly increases Bloom damage
Reduces Hydro and Dendro resistances

Overall, if you love playing Bloom teams and were saddened by the recent shift from Bloom meta in Natlan, then Lauma is perfect for you. For players who dislike using Bloom teams or lack the necessary characters to make it work, I would suggest skipping her.

Lauma’s C1 vs Signature Weapon: Which to Get?

Lauma’s signature weapon and Constellation 1 both offer strong upgrades to her kit. Her signature weapon greatly increases her EM and the party’s Bloom damage. It is really effective if you want to deal massive amounts of damage to your enemies consistently.

However, Lauma’s C1 is slightly better in comparison, as it turns her into a healer. This frees up a spot for sustains in your teams, letting you run another support and sub-dps. Lauma’s C1 can only provide heals when playing in Bloom teams, so keep that in mind when using her.

Best Genshin Impact Lauma Builds

Lauma’s build is very simple, and properly building her will double the damage output of your bloom teams. Here is a quick overview of Lauma’s best build in Genshin Impact.

If you lack the above-mentioned stats, artifacts, or weapons for Lauma, then don’t be disheartened, as there are many alternatives. The following section includes all alternatives for Lauma’s build, including alternative weapons, artifacts, and stats.

Lauma Build Weapons: Best and Alternatives

NameRarityValue
Nightweaver’s Looking Glass5-StarBest
Sunny Morning Sleep-In5-starGreat
Starcaller’s Watch5-starGreat
A Thousand Floating Dreams5-starGreat
Blackmarrow Lantern4-starGreat
Etherlight Spindlelute4-starGood

Lauma’s signature weapon, Nightweaver’s Looking Glass, is clearly the best weapon for her. It significantly increases EM and Bloom damage for the team, making it an ideal choice for her. Other than that, you can use any weapon that provides EM and possibly increases Bloom reactions. Sunny Morning Sleep-in, Starcaller’s Watch, and A Thousand Floating Dreams are excellent 5-star alternative weapons for Lauma.

When it comes to 4-star, you can either use the Nod-Krai forgeable Catalyst, Blackmarrow Lantern, or the upcoming event catalyst, Etherlight Spindlelute.

Lauma Build Artifacts: Best and Alternatives

NameValue
Silken Moon’s SerenadeBest
Flower of Paradise LostGreat
Deepwood MemoriesDecent

For Lauma, the newest Nod-krai artifacts set Silken Moon’s Serenade is a clear favorite. It increases the Energy recharge rate of the equipped character, while also increasing the Elemental Mastery and Lunar Reaction damage for all allies in the party.

Another good alternative is Flower of Paradise Lost, which also gives a ton of EM that would be appreciable on Lauma. Finally, you need someone in Lauma’s team to use Deepwood Memories to increase the damage output of Dendro attacks and reactions. However, it is best equipped by other characters over Lauma in her teams.

StatRecommended ValuePriority
EMAs much as possibleHighest
ERR140+High

Lauma’s stat requirements are quite straightforward. You simply have to add as much Elemental Mastery as possible, alongside meeting 140+ Energy Recharge Rate. These are the only stats that really matter for building Lauma.

Best Teams for Lauma Builds in Genshin Impact

Lauma is an excellent Bloom support character in Genshin Impact, making her one of the top picks for Hyperbloom, Bloom, and Burgeon teams. Here are some of the best Lauma team comps in the Genshin Impact Luna 1 update:

Lauma Hyperbloom Team

DPSSub-DPSSupportSupportValue
Raiden ShogunXingqiuYelanLaumaBest

Lauma’s main Hyperbloom team is the strongest she will ever be in Genshin Impact. This team needs a strong electro applier to trigger Hyperbloom, making Raiden Shogun a clear favorite. Pair her alongside Xingqiu and Yelan to apply Hydro, and you have a team that easily deals over 100k damage.

Nilou-Kokomi Bloom Team

DPSSupportSupportSupportValue
NilouLaumaNahidaKokomiGreat

The traditional Nilou-Kokomi Bloom team has also received a major buff with Lauma’s release. Adding Lauma as the second Dendro applier in the team will make it very easy to trigger Bloom reactions, while also greatly increasing the damage output. Furthermore, having Kokomi in this team will prevent them from dying, making the team very tanky.

Lauma Burgeon Team

DPSSub DPSSupportSupportValue
ThomaXingqiuKokomiLaumaGood

Next on the line for Lauma’s best teams is her Burgeon team. This team can also stack a ton of damage with Thoma acting as the main DPS and Xingqiu as the Hydro applier. However, as Burgeon also does a terrible amount of self-damage, you will need a healer to survive fights. This means you can either use Kokomi, Baizhu, or other strong healers.

Lauma’s F2P Friendly Team — Alternative Hyperbloom Team

DPSSub-DPSSupportSupportValue
Kuki ShinobuXingqiuLaumaBarbaraDecent

Finally, Lauma’s F2P team will feature a pared-down version of her Hyperbloom team. Here, Kuki Shinobu can act as the main trigger DPS over Raiden Shogun, and Barbara can act as both a Hydro applier and a healer to the team.

Genshin Impact Lauma: Kit, Rotations, Talents & Constellations

Lauma’s kit is extremely strong, making her one of the strongest Bloom supports in the game. Here is everything you need to know about Lauma’s kit and how to play her.

Genshin Impact Lauma Kit Rotation

Skill (tap) > Burst > Swap > Repeat

Lauma’s kit rotation in Genshin Impact is very simple to understand. You start by using her Skill by tapping, followed by her Burst if available. Finally, swap to the other characters depending on the reaction you are planning on using in the fight. Her skill applies Dendro very frequently, while her Burst further increases the damage output.

When triggering Bloom reactions around her, she gains Verdant Dew, which can then be converted to Pale Hymn stacks that increase the damage of Lunar Bloom reactions. So, make sure to frequently use her Skill as it has a short cooldown. Correctly timing it will massively increase the damage output of your team.

Genshin Impact Lauma Moonsign

Now, let’s take a look at Lauma’s moonsign, which is the new Nod-krai character-specific abilities.

  • Nascent Gleam: Bloom, Hyperbloom, and Burgeon damage dealt by all party members can Crit, with a fixed Crit rate at 15%, and Crit DMG at 100%. Crit Rate from effect stacks with Crit Rate from similar effects that allow these Elemental Reactions to Crit.
  • Ascendant Gleam: All nearby party members’ triggering Lunar-Bloom reactions will get an increase of 10% Crit Rate and 20% Crit Damage.

Currently, Lauma is a lot more useful by being the only Nod-krai character in the team. Her Nascent Gleam’s moonsign allows Bloom reactions to Crit with a fixed Crit Rate and Damage multiplier. Unless a better Nod-krai support or DPS comes for Lauma in the future, it is best that you put her alone in the team without her regional companions.

Genshin Impact Lauma Kit

Lauma has some very interesting abilities that can greatly benefit Bloom teams. To play her optimally, you must first understand her abilities properly. So, here is a quick explanation of Lauma’s kit in Genshin Impact:

  • Lauma’s Normal Attack: Lauma’s charged attack morphs her into a deer, allowing her to charge by consuming stamina. When exiting her form, her charged attack changes and deals AoE Dendro damage after a short cast.
  • Lauma’s Elemental Skills: Summons a field that deals AoE Dendro damage around her. When holding the skill, she consumes Verdant Dew to deal increased AoE Dendro Damage and instances of Lunar Bloom damage. Enemies hit by this attack also have reduced Dendro and Hydro resistances for 10 seconds.
  • Lauma’s Elemental Burst: She gains 18 stacks of Pale Hymn, which, once consumed, increases the damage of Bloom, Hyperbloom, Burgeon, and Lunar-Bloom’s DMG based on her Elemental Mastery. Hitting multiple enemies will consume multiple Pale Hymn stacks.
  • Lauma’s Passives: All Bloom reactions triggered by the party are converted to Lunar Bloom. The damage of Lunar Bloom increases based on Lauma’s elemental mastery—grants different effects based on the party’s moonsign to allies after using Lauma’s Elemental Skill. Every point in her Elemental Mastery increases the damage dealt by the summon from her Skill and reduces the cooldown of her Normal Charged attack. Finally, marks nearby resources of Nod-krai. Lauma also has an affinity with small animals affected by kuuvahki.

After you have gone through her kit explanation, you can check her exact Talents and Constellations to get the complete view.

While in this state, Lauma’s interruption resistance is increased, and she can consume additional stamina to perform up to two consecutive jumps. When exiting the Spirit Envoy state, Spirit Envoy Metamorphosis will enter cooldown, during which time, Lauma’s Charged Attack will be transformed into Spiritcall Prayer: Consumes a certain amount of Stamina to deal AoE Dendro DMG to opponents in front of her after a short casting time.
Plunging Attack: Lauma plunges towards the ground from mid-air, damaging all opponents in her path and dealing AoE Dendro DMG upon impact with the ground.

Additionally, if Lauma uses her Elemental Burst while she has Moon Song, or she gains Moon Song within 15s of using her Elemental Burst, she will consume all Moon Song stacks and gain 6 stacks of Pale Hymn for every Moon Song stack consumed. This effect can only be triggered once for each Elemental Burst used, including the following 15 seconds.
Pale Hymn: When party members deal Bloom, Hyperbloom, Burgeon, or Lunar-Bloom DMG, 1 stack of Pale Hymn will be consumed, and the DMG dealt will be increased based on Lauma’s Elemental Mastery. If this DMG hits multiple opponents at once, then multiple stacks of Pale Hymn will be consumed, depending on how many opponents are hit.
– The duration for each stack of Pale Hymn is counted independently.
Moonsign Benediction: Nature’s Chorus
(Passive 1)
When a party member triggers a Bloom reaction, it will be converted into the Lunar-Bloom reaction, with every point of Elemental Mastery that Lauma has increasing Lunar-Bloom’s Base DMG by 0.0175%, up to a maximum of 14%. During this time, when nearby party members trigger Lunar-Bloom reactions, nearby active characters will recover HP equal to 500% of Lauma’s Elemental Mastery. This effect can be triggered once every 2s. Additionally, the Stamina cost for Lauma’s Spirit Envoy Form will be reduced by 40%, and its Max Duration will be extended by 5s.

– When the Peregrination of Linnunrata attacks opponents, it will deal 1 additional instance of AoE Dendro DMG equal to 320% of Lauma’s Elemental Mastery. This DMG is considered Lunar-Bloom DMG. This instance of DMG will not consume any Pale Hymn stacks and will provide Lauma with 2 stacks of Pale Hymn, as well as refreshing the duration of Pale Hymn stacks gained in this manner.
– This effect can occur up to 8 times during each Peregrination of Linnunrata. When using the Elemental Skill Runo: Dawnless Rest of Karsikko, all Pale Hymn stacks gained in this manner will be removed.
– Additionally, when Lauma uses a Normal Attack while she has Pale Hymn stacks, she will consume 1 stack to convert this to deal Dendro DMG equal to 280% of her Elemental Mastery. This DMG is considered Lunar-Bloom DMG and cannot be overridden by other Elemental infusions.
Moonsign: Ascendant Gleam: All party members’ Lunar-Bloom DMG is elevated by 10%.
