In Short
  • The burnt man in Dean Cipher's house could be Thomas Godolkin.
  • Thomas was present in the room where the experimental Compound V failed, and everything went up in flames.
  • It is possible that Thomas Godolkin is Cipher's father and is being kept alive by his son via life support.

One thing we all understand by now is that when something comes from The Boys’ universe, we as the audience should prepare ourselves for a plot twist that we didn’t see coming. Such is the case with Gen V. When Dean Cipher first came into the picture, he was a complete mystery; other than his name, we had no idea who he was. While Gen V Season 2 Episode 4 revealed Dean Cipher’s powers to us, it left us with another mystery: the burnt man in a hyperbaric chamber in the secret room at Dean Cipher’s house. Who is he?

Now, it’s time to put on our tinfoil hats. We see that Cate and Jordan broke into Dean Cipher’s house to find out what he has kept hidden in the secret room. Using the keys they got from the guard who was…well…occupied, they got into the room and saw a hyperbaric chamber attached to a life support system. When they peeked into it, there was a man with third-degree burns in there, and as he opened his eyes, both Cate and Jordan ran out of the house.

Later, Cipher told Cate that the man in the cryogenic chamber is his father. Now, this is where a wild theory comes in. If you remember the first episode of Gen V Season 2, we see that several scientists met horrible deaths after using what looks like a primitive version of Compound V, with the lab going up in flames.

In that room, Thomas Godolkin was present, and he tried to pull the fire alarm but fainted before he could do so. It appears that in Gen V Season 2, the burnt man in Dean Cipher’s house is none other than Thomas Godolkin, and Dean Cipher is his son.

The point of Cipher being Godlkin’s son is supported by the fact that he is so hell bent on reviving Project Odessa and also training the last surviving member of the original program, Marie, to her full potential.

So, if you connect all the dots, it makes a lot of sense.
