Now, thanks to a possible slip from the LEGO Fortnite account, it looks like The Nothing, who is the biggest threat in Fortnite lore, will soon be making a return. But who is The Nothing in Fortnite? Who is The Nothing in Fortnite?
The Nothing is essentially the big bad in the Fortnite storyline, a figureless character and more of a primordial force essential to the universe’s functioning. This being, despite being mentioned in the Fortnite storyline by name only a few times, has actually been here from the start, and is the figure pulling the strings behind The Cube Queen and the Last Reality. While those entities have wreaked their fair share of havoc, they aren’t anything compared to The Nothing.
Many lore enthusiasts consider The Nothing as a sentient non-existence that predates even the Zero Point. If the Zero Point represents all of creation, The Nothing is the complete opposite, functioning as a vacuum that wants to reclaim everything. This has led The Nothing to send its minions, like The Last Reality and seemingly the Dark Voyager, to the Fortnite island to try and corrupt or destroy the Zero Point.
Remember the black hole after the Chapter 1 finale Fortnite live event? That is one of the few instances where we get to see The Nothing’s presence, when it almost won before the Zero Point reset itself and rebuilt the Chapter 2 map. Given how the Dark Voyager is putting the Zero Point Shards together, it looks like The Nothing is looming on the horizon, waiting for the right time to strike.
Is The Nothing Returning in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2? Rumours Explained
It looks like The Nothing will finally be making some sort of an appearance in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2, and the reports of this didn’t come from a leaker or a dataminer, but the official LEGO Fortnite account itself.
On March 23, 2026, the account responded to a post, featuring the new Captain America and Iron Man skins in the Fortnite Item Shop, by stating: “They’ve already defeated Ultron and Thanos. The Nothing doesn’t stand a chance.” Needless to say, this sent storyline fans into a frenzy, as it looked like the LEGO account had accidentally revealed the big bad of Season 2, and possibly even the entire Chapter 7.
If this truly is a hint of what’s to come, it will be the first time The Nothing will be mentioned in the Fortnite storyline in a while. Since the figure is unlikely to be present physically, players can expect to see it take control of a character to spread its message across the Golden Coast island, much like the Byte skin in Chapter 3 Season 4.
While it is possible that the LEGO account’s comment means nothing for the lore and was just a placeholder comment to promote the new Marvel skins, referencing one of the many Fortnite villains in passing. However, with Team Foundation and Team Ice King going head-to-head at the whim of the Dark Voyager, it looks like The Nothing wants to take the Island’s defenses down completely before making its move in a possible upcoming live event.
