Fallout Season 2 Episode 6 is out on Prime Video, and while we are closing in on the final episodes of this beloved show, epic reveals are coming our way left, right, and center. In this episode, the Ghoul’s fate initially felt headed towards a not-so-favourable end, but before he turned completely feral, a hooded figure pulled him off the pole he was impaled on and saved him. That hooded figure turned out to be a green monster-like being, the kind of which are known as Super Mutants in Fallout games. Who Is the Green Monster in Fallout Season 2 Episode 6?
In Episode 5, we saw that the Ghoul got skewered on a pole and is in a very sticky situation. In Episode 6, we see that he is starting to go feral, but soon, a gigantic figure starts coming towards him. Initially, it seems that it could be a deathclaw, but as it turns out, he was rescued by a hooded, gigantic figure who took the Ghoul with him.
As we get to see its face, it was a gigantic green monster that gave the Ghoul Uranium to heal him. This green monster in Fallout Season 2 Episode 6 is a Super Mutant according to Fallout’s lore. Now, if you are not aware of what these creatures are, allow me to elaborate.
Who Is Playing the Green Monster in Fallout Season 2?
While the introduction of Super Mutants in itself is an exciting detail, Prime went all in on fan service since the green monster or Super Mutant in Fallout Season 2 is voiced by Ron Perlman. For those not familiar, he is the voice behind the iconic “War Never Changes” monologue seen in Fallout. He’s usually heard as the narrator but has also voiced several other characters in the franchise, such as Butch Harris in the first Fallout game, The Anchorman in Fallout 4, and The Speaker in Fallout 76
What Are Super Mutants in Fallout?
In Fallout lore, Super Mutants are humanoid creatures created when humans were exposed to the Forced Evolutionary Virus (FEV). The result of said exposure was that it turned these regular humans into giants who have superhuman strength and agility, enhanced endurance, and, most of all, are immune to radiation and diseases. Their intelligence is also altered and varies from mutant to mutant. Another notable trait of the Super Mutants is that they are completely sterile and cannot reproduce.
Their skin color is usually green in all instances except for a few exceptions, such as Nightkin. Now this monster saved Ghoul’s life, and there is a very good chance that he might appear in further episodes as well. I believe that Ghoul and the others could seek help from the Super Mutant to take down the Deathclaws since they are known to be capable enough to kill them. So, let’s wait and see what happens as the show nears its conclusion.
